To be specific, the Age of Enlightenment. Probably right before the Industrial Revolution. Inventors like Belle's father were common

No, sorry, but I'm sure if's Renaissance. I don't know the subject very well, but I know the Renaissance went at least to this period. Also, I've seen many people say the style of the clothing and the architeture is very Renaissance. Also, wasn't the age of Industrial Revolution in 1800's? When i mean late I mean 1750-on. I think the Renaissance was full spread on at that time - didn't Marie Antoinette live in the Reinassance and the 1700's?

^The renaissance ended in the late 1600s, so it isn't REALLY renaissance. But it is a sort of renaissance style.

MacyStrange, exactly!!! The Renassiance isn't very strictly defined on a timeline, but it's generally agreed it did not go into the 1700s. The Industrial Revolution began in the late 1700s around the time of the steam engine

Yes, I saw it in Wikipedia, but I think the style of everything that days was renaissance, no (I don't know the english adjective for it, sorry)? Because the early draft of BatB had an obviously Renaissance feel to it.
