Because if she can't win the prince for herself the morning after his wedding to another she'll turn into sea foam and die. She had a chance to save herself because her sisters sold their hair to the witch in exchang for a knife which the mermaid must plung into the princes heart and his blood will drip on her legs and they will form a tail than she can live and go back to being a mermaid. Of course she can't do it she jumps into the sea, the sun comes up, she turns into sea foam and dies. posted il y a plus d’un an.
