I don't think they went into town to get clothing because someone could follow them and find out they're secret, Fauna looks like one of those sweet old grannies that goes "Let me nit you a blanket deary", or Merrywheather obviously Flora didn't.

I agree, it can't have usually been Flora, otherwise they wouldn't all have the wearable clothes they do. She gets points for effort, but she was clearly awful at making clothes.
