Barbie is not disney so what does this have to do with the disney princesses

If they would of had these when I was little I would have been obsessed...I used to be a Barbie-a-holic.

I made this pick because the whole Barbie series of films was created due to the success of the Disney Princess franchise and I was curious to see what Disney Princess fans (the ones with relative intellect) have to say about the series of films that share a few similarities to the films that we compare on this spot.

They filled the little void in between Mulan and Tiana. Well, at least before that stupid fairy stuff. I liked them up until they started making up their own- I even had Barbie in the Nutcracker (the first one) in VHS, DVD, and storybook form. The Rapunzel and Swan Lake ones were good too. The Swan Lake one is actually a lot better than that Disney knockoff "The Swan Princess" IMO- they make Odette more of a heroine.

anyway. i only saw one, the nutcracker one, and I liked it!

I used to love those movies when I was 5-9. I still would be able to watch it on TV if there was nothing else.

@KataraLover: No duh the Swan Princess isn't Disney. There's never been a more epic fail at an attempted modern day heroine ever. Odette is just horrible! Even New Disney can't fail that bad.

I've always liked The Princess and the Pauper and Rapunzel ones, I think I also saw The Nutcracker once, too

I really liked the first ones that came out. I lost track of them though. I have the first few movies that came out.

@Firegirl1515 Oh, I agree with you about The Swan Princess. Sadly though, one of friends thinks it better then some of the Disney Princess Movies and that it should be Disney, even though it wasn't made by Disney. I tried to talk some sense into her, but she won't listen.

Anyway,I think a lot of them are pretty good. MY favorite is the The Princess and the Pauper. Let's see I've seen The Diamond castle one, The Christmas carol, the Island Princess, 12 dancing princesses and the one where Mariposa talk about one of her fairy friends. I still haven't see the Nutcracker, Rapunzel, or Swan Lake, but I want to.

^^You should see those three! They're the original and the best. I liked The Princess and the Pauper too, but the those three were the best IMO.

I have Nutcracker on video but I didn't like it. I loved Barbie when I was little. When I was 5, we went Christmas shopping in the kids section in the basement at the Co-op (which is sadly now a bargain basement instead) and Barbie was there with Santa. She gave me a present and she was wearing that big light pink dress with all the flowers on it just like the doll. I was in shock for like a week of joy and happiness. I still have my dodgy early 90s Barbie video. That must be worth a bit now - it was rare when we got it.

I love Barbie As Rapunzel and I also enjoyed Barbie In Swan Lake and Barbie In The Nutcracker.
