Although prettyness doesn't hurt. It's hard because all the princesses are beautiful, so I can't say whether or not I would. But I think Mulan is only cute and she's my third favorite. But since none of the princesses are ugly it's hard to be honest with this question.

My top three are most peoples ugliest, or least pretty I suppose since none of them are ugly in any manner. I love Belle, Mulan and Pocahomntas.

If she was likeable and her movie was good. But if her being unattractive was a focal point of her story I don't know how much I'd like the movie. I've said before I dislike the idea of an ugly princess. Not because beauty's very important, but I think the current idea of showing beauty can be found in a range of different looks is more healthy for young viewers than saying 'ok, you're ugly, here's an ugly girl to represent you'. Then instead of seeing a beautiful princess who shares a feature they may feel bad about and getting the message 'I can be pretty even with *insert insecurity here*' they'd see the ugly princess share that feature and come away with the message 'It's ok that you're not pretty' which just seems way less uplifting to me.
I'm not really sure about the option I picked, because a princess being ugly definitely wouldn't put me off her as a character, but a princess story revolving around the idea that she's unattractive probably wouldn't appeal to me. I picked this because it's the idea of a story about her lack of attractiveness that doesn't appeal, not the idea of unattractiveness itself, so as long as the movie was good she'd have as good a chance as any to be in my top.
There are princesses whose looks and grace play a part in what I like about them, like Aurora, but none who are in my top three.

I choose them on traits, but I also choose them on how appealing they are to the eye. They're cartoons - that's sort of the point of them.

Sorry, but I'm shallow. I barely noticed Pocahontas's icon. Scary.

I think this poll could be worded differently and have more options.

I just tried thinking of my favorite princesses and it's hard for me to tell is their regal looks made me think they were really cool people or if their regal personalities made me like them.

But I would feel more comfortable with "Do you think a princess you found unattractive could be in your top 3 favorite princesses" or something.

But did you word the question the way you did because if it's part of their story, it doesn't matter what we find attractive, the story tells us they are unattractive in their world, which would send an important message about what really matters in them is who they are, inside?

I agree with Mermaid-Tail. And it's been done well before- in the book Fairest by Gail Carson Levine, the main character (who becomes a princess) is supposed to be ugly because of the way her kingdom perceived beauty.

Certainly! Snow White and Cinderella are definitely not the prettiest princesses in my opinion, but they are my favorites!

Call me shallow...

That's a nice Pocahontas picture you got there...she looks angry-ish.

All of the princesses, to me, are beautiful...so lets leave it at that.
