Both would be wonderful but I feel Elizabeth would be just PERFECT as Vanessa.

I’ve never seen Bella Thorne in anything and I’ve never heard her sing. I’ve seen Elizabeth Gillies as Jade in Victorious so I know she would do a good job playing a Disney villain

@BB2010 But wouldn't both of them end up being dubbed by whoever was playing Ariel? As for Bella's acting, I've made several videos about how she can act. She's an amazingly versatile actress who has played villains in movies like The Duff, You Get Me, and Babysitter. She's a brilliant actress!

PrueFever, yeah that small smile is one of the main reasons I picked her. She also can pull off the attitude and attractiveness that Vanessa had in the movie.

She even has her sharp eyebrows and a similar eye shape. I mean, SERIOUSLY, can Disney just hire her to play Vanessa already?

Bella's an interesting choice that I had never thought of, and while I think she'd do a good job, I think Elizabeth Gillies fits the type better, with those sort of bitchy side expressions. Ideally, the actress playing Vanessa would be a little more voluptuous, I think, but the costuming can do a lot of that work and it's not as though real women actually have Vanessa's absurd body type anyway, so between these two, I definitely go with Elizabeth.

I'd love Eva Green in the role, if I could put anyone in there though.

Elizabeth Gillies looks evil so I'd say she would be great to play a second villain Vanessa in the live action little mermaid movie
