I´m assuming you´re talking about the first movie and not the awful sequel. The reason I don´t find it heartbreaking is because I don´t feel that it´s a "Goodbye because we´ll not meet again ever". For me, it´s more like "Goodbye for now, we´ll meet again someday". That´s why I´ve never thought it was heartbreaking.

I always find it sad when two characters find love/companionship and then have to part ways, even if it's bittersweet.
