At least Sultan need to explain Jasmine how her duties and responsibility as a princess, are very important for her kingdom.

Definitely. Jasmine should have had more responsibilities to understand better her role as a princess and the way her kingdom works. He should have acted a bit more like Elinor did with Merida, I think.

And yeah, I agree that the sultan could just have changed the rules in the beginning of the movie, when Jasmine told him she wanted to marry for love.
