The long hair is more marketable. I mean for one it's freaking Rapunzel, she's known for that signature long blonde hair. Another reason is because generally little girls, the targeted audience, prefer long hair over short hair. That's why the Snow White and Belle dolls have longer hair than their movie versions do, it's why Belle's hair is much longer in her redesign, and it's why Mulan was always shown with long hair instead of shoulder length. Long hair is just more appealing to little girls so it's more marketable. But maybe they could switch it up sometimes like they do with Ariel as a mermaid and a human but that's still more marketable than short hair because she's a mermaid.

I like the brown better, but the blonde is more recognizable..soo yeah.

The short brown hair is a spoiler for people who have not seen the movie and would probably be confusing for children.

I agree that Rapunzel is supposed to be marketed with her long blonde hair because that's what the fairy-tale Rapunzel is known for. I also agree that the short hair is a spoiler for those who haven't watched it. But I wouldn't mind seeing short hair Rapunzel sometimes because I like her short brown hair.

I like both, plus do do market some stuff with her brown hair, so I'm fine.

It's not choosing it because of the hair color. I'm choosing it because of the hair length. Rapunzel is known for her long hair. It's her special power so marketing her with the short hair would be kinda stupid. Plus she has the long hair through most of the movie.

I think that maybe they can make a way to include both. Maybe making some merchandise with both on it. Although since she´s known for her long hair it would be the main look.

I guess I just personally prefer the brown hair, and it'd look nicer with the other princesses. How common is short hair, or brown hair in the lineup?

I prefer the nice hair but this one is "Rapunzel" from the fairy tale aspect
