In the novel Divergent, every person has to choose between five factions and live following it's values. Each faction is dedicated to the cultivation of a particular virtue.

Abnegation: The faction that values selflessness in the service of others. These are ones who do community service.

Erudite: The faction dedicated to knowledge, intelligence, curiosity, and astuteness.

Dauntless: The faction dedicated to courage, bravery, and fearlessness.

Amity: The faction who values peace above else. The ones who try to make everything peaceful.

Candor: They are known to value honesty and believe in the principle that openness would lead to a more perfect society.

If any DP is selfless it's Mulan. She could have been executed for being a woman in the army, but she still went to save her father. If that isn't selfless I don't know what is.
I do think she'd be a Divergent between Dauntless and Abnegation though, but I like to think she'd choose Abnegation.

It takes guts to join the army when she's a woman and knows the law.
