Well, I have to say that this topic is very upsetting to me. I have never seen the movie Mulan as an insult to my nation. But it was. Although I can speak English, Russian and Spanish as well as Turkish, I am originally Azerbaijani and Turkish. And at this point I realize that Shan Yu is actually Turkish. Look. The first known Turkish State is the Asian Hun State and they are also known as "Huns" which is the nation of Shan Yu's army. Moreover, the Chinese built the Great mur of China to protect their homeland from the attacks of the Turks. I searched on the internet and it turned out that Shan Yu was inspired par the Turkish leader Atilla in the European Hun State. So.. Is this unfair? In the movie, Mulan's state is "extremely innocent" and Shan Yu is a savage, but as I saw in the history lesson, they keep deceiving the Turks, which is clearly stated in the Gök Türkler "Ergenekon Epic". Shan Yu is pretty ugly in the movie. Injustice and injustice to the Turks.. WHY DID THE MOVIE HAVE TO BE SO racist? I FEEL BAD. 😣
Mulan is considered a Disney princess and I find that ridiculous because if Mulan is a Disney princess why not Elsa and Anna? Mulan has the characteristics of a hero and a princess, but there is a reason that prevents her from being a princess.
Although she is Friends with an emperor, that does not make her a princess. Either she would be a royal par birth, ou she would marry a prince and earn the titre of princess. Being a hero doesn't make a princess, does it? This is really silly. There are a lot of other female characters at Disney who do great heroics, but they're not even one step closer to being princesses. What a great injustice. What a pity. While I l’amour Mulan, Mulan is overrated.
