I LITTERALLY just got done watching the movie, and I must say-I was pleasantly surprised. Disney really got creative with this one. I see it winning some Academy Awards suivant year. That was just a bit of what I thought all together. Now, let's get to the real deal.
The animation:
I like how they used what looked like some 2D animation in the beginning and during some parts of the movie. It gives, not only me, but I'm sure a bunch of you, hope that 2D animation isn't dead. I also liked how they all these arc en ciel like couleurs when the dragons get resurrected. (Am I the only one who was obsessed with Sisu's human hair while she was in human form? LOL.) Jokes aside, let's déplacer onto the suivant thing.
The characters:
Oh my God, the character development was phenomenal! I loved how as the movie progresses, it's like Namaari has a change of heart, yet she's too scared to montrer ou act on it at first, but when she does act on it, it gave me a whole new definition on what a villain turned hero means. Secondly, I need to give Disney hommages for adding the little "con baby". (I mean, what a headstrong 15-18 mois old!) Let's take a seconde to talk about Raya now. She's quite a character! She showed every trait of all of us are capable of feeling. The pain we still feel way later on in life when we've been betrayed par someone we THOUGHT we trusted is one of those traits. At the same time, she's very confident and relatable. Great character overall.
The story:
While I watched it, I thought it was going to be slightly predictable, but it REALLY started to get good when Sisu told Raya about her backstory and to try to see the good the good in Namaari. As I mentioned earlier, I was wowed par Namaari's changes, and how her and Raya were able to become Friends after all. There were some inspiring quotes, too. Disney did a great job with écriture the story. Remember how I a dit I thought the story was going to be slightly predictable? Well, there WERE some predictable moments, but they were worth seeing because of how fantastic it was.
global, ensemble review:
I'd definitely the movie an 8 ou 9 out of 10. It had it's predictable moments, but it's a great movie. I HIGHLY recommend it. Nicely done family oriented film, stunning animation, wonderful character development, all the stuff that's good. (Did I mention pleasantly surprising?)
Before I close out this article, I'd like to dedicate it to my grandfather, who, as toi all know, passed away in March, the same mois of the movie's release. I'm doing better now, but I just couldn't leave him out.
That's it for my review. I hope to see all of toi for my suivant article! <3
