This one is over a mois late but I have reasons! 1. I kept forgetting 2. I had some personal stuff going on and I had personal reasons to not want to watch this movie for a while after watching the first one. But this movie and Ariel's Beginning are way overdue at the bibliothèque so it's now ou never and get even plus fines.

Today's rewatch: The Little Mermaid 2: Return to the Sea
Last time watched: 2015

How much did I like this movie as a kid?
Since I loved The Little Mermaid when I was little, of course I was really excited to watch Return to the Sea and when I finally did watch it I might not have loved it as much as the first one, but that didn't stop me from watching this movie over and over and over again. The last time I watched this movie I was working 2 jobs and when I had a 3 heure break between shifts I was channel surfing when I saw Disney Channel playing this movie for the first time in I didn't know how long (seriously, when was the last time Disney Channel showed a straight to dvd sequel?). The seconde I saw this movie was on I sat back, relaxed, and took a nice trip down memory lane before I had to spend another night in stress.

Why I l’amour this movie so much:
For one thing, JODI FRIGGING BENSON RETURNED AS ARIEL. Jodi Benson is one of my favori singers and actrices and I l’amour watching any movie that she sings in even if it's a bad movie.

Also, how did I go this long not knowing Pat Carroll voiced Morgana? Especially with that laugh!

I l’amour that this movie toned down Triton's temper, the only time we see him get angry like he did in the first movie is when Morgana is involved and when he's upset about Melody missing (though that time was understandable it was a little much)

One of things I l’amour about this movie is that the characters aren't out of character (except maybe Ariel a little bit, even if Melody couldn't know about merpeople she could have at least told Melody why the ocean wasn't sûr, sans danger but if that's not an option then it's understandable) which is almost rare to see in straight to dvd sequels (so far I've only seen it in the Aladin sequels, BatB Il était une fois Christmas, and kinda Cendrillon 2)

Something I almost forgot about this movie (despite it being pretty obvious) is how similar this movie is to the first movie. Not just the parts about a princess sneaking off to somewhere forbidden and asking a sea witch for help, there's Melody forgetting about the party like Ariel forgot about the concert, Melody splashing out of the water like Ariel did after she got legs, Melody collecting treasures like Ariel did, and so on.

I'm glad we got to see plus of Ariel and Eric together, in some of the sequels we've gotten we never get to see too much of the original couple interacting the same way Ariel and Eric do in this movie. In other sequels we see them talking about their children and most of the time it's only one ou two scenes together and that's it. In this movie we see Ariel and Eric talk-singing in the opening, they talk about their daughter but they're longer scenes and there's plus than one, and there's that sweet little "bad hair day" part before the birthday party.

Melody still isn’t my favori sequel princess but I still like her. Sometimes I think people forget she’s only 12 years old and people that age can make mistakes especially after being lied to par a parent and being manipulated par a “sweet” old lady. I know I did some really stupid and dangerous stuff as a kid so I know how it is. I still l’amour her design and I’m glad the animators didn’t make her look 100% like Ariel like Disney normally does with Disney children. I remember being so disappointed that she wasn’t going to be in the third movie because I wanted to see plus of her relationship with her parents.

Watching this now I find it so weird that when Melody heard Mama manchot, pingouin yelling for help we didn't see her come to try help ou any reaction at all. Like Ariel with the stuffed crabe in the first movie, this might just be bad writing.

While Tip and Dash are obvious knockoffs of Timon and Pumbaa I had a hard time hating them. I didn't l’amour them because they were plus annoying knockoffs of Timon and Pumbaa, but I didn't hate them. I thought they had some moments that made them likable and honestly, I liked their song. It was catchy!

While the climax wasn't as intense as the first one we at least got to see Morgana use the trident plus compared to Ursula who was only able to use it for a brief while.

What I loved the most about the ending is unlike the first movie, this movie actually addressed that toi didn't have to choose to be only on land ou in the sea, toi can be a part of both. I still loved the ending to the first movie plus than the ending to this movie but I'm still happy this movie showed the humans and sirènes together.

Movie:
As much as I l’amour this movie, it's not the original. The characters look Saturday Morning Cartoonsy, Morgana wasn't as impressive as Ursula ("Morgana, why can't toi be plus like your sister Ursula?"), the background animation was even plus disappointing, especially the ocean scenes which is a huge bummer because that's what I loved so much about the first movie. I had plus fun watching the first movie but this movie was still plus fun to watch than some of the other sequels I watched recently.

Rating: 6/10

How much has my opinion changed?
It's changed a little bit compared to how I felt about this movie when I was younger.

Would I watch it again?
Yes!

suivant movie will be The Little Mermaid: Ariel's Beginning
Like all young girls I l’amour the Disney Princesses I was undecided who I liked because I liked the bran new one when it came out it wasn't until I got older that I placed them in a ranking from my least favori to my all time. I'd like to apologize in advance if I offend anyone this isn't intentional I think all the Disney Princesses are beautiful and inspiring in there own way :)

# 10 Jasmine: I've never really had a thing for her even when I was little I always found her immodest granted now I know its part of her culture but she just seems like a spolied brat who doesn't seem to be grateful...

25: Ariel & Mulan

Your comments:
Mulan sacrifices everything for selfless reasons, Ariel on the other hand sacrifices everything for selfish reasons. (BelleAnastasia)

24: Tiana & Rapunzel

Your commentaires (I chose to only take the ones that where in the tie breaker vote since there was so many great ones there):
They have a few things in common, but for the most parts they are total opposites. (BelleAnastasia)
that was a little tough...but...

A rant on Cinderella, étoile, star of the Disney Princess franchise.

Obviously, as many would know, Cendrillon is easily the most populaire princess on a global scale. But why? Here are some reasons. Her story is one of, it not the most well known fairytale of all time. Though she is beautiful, her features are rather typical. This means she can be used to represent all the princesses. Her movie was a massive hit that started a cycle of successful films(Alice In Wonderland, Peter Pan). Not to mention, her iconic dress and glass slipper. And finally, her movie is the favori of Walt Disney himself....

Snow White-Winona Ryder

Cinderella-Elizabeth Banks

Tiana-Anika Noni Rose

Rapunzel-Cameron Diaz
In the Disney Franchise, Cinderella's ballgown is blue, but that was not always true (hey that rhymes).
In the 1950 film, when Cendrillon got transformed into her gown, it was white. When she looked at her reflection in the fountain, it was blue. When they needed products for this movie, some people thought the white robe looked too much like a wedding dress, so they watched the whole movie over and over again until they came up with something. They saw Cindy's reflection in the fountain, and thought that was a good color, thus, Cinderella's dress is now considered blue.
I'll just get right to the point.

The Flag:
The flag shown on the ship was not used until at least 100 years after the time the film is set.

.____. I knew something was fishy about that flag....

Poca's hair:
ahh, her hair... Lovely isn't it? How it luciously blows in the wind.... But... Isn't it strange how WELL it blows? I mean... My hair is now almost that legnth, and even when the wind is high, it never gets so much as past my back...
So either that is some pretty WICKED wind, ou she has some LIGHT hair... Maybe both.

But, if the wind WERE that crazy, then why doesn't it blow the crap...

The colline was so wonderful that Rose Red felt sad over leaving them, but she was ready to see the castle.

The château was so big and beautiful and was located close to the sea and was high up the mountains.

Somewhere you've never been
Make a wish and the dream in toi grows
Shinning as bright as day
Carrying toi far away

The story begins with the light in your heart
A fantasy, a dream and a spark
Once toi believe toi are ready to shine

Once toi believe toi are ready to shine
Bright as the world's ever known

Feel your strength, toi can face the world
Believe every day, everything is possible
A magical journey awaits

10. Snow White and the Prince
Their kiss, for me, was a bit dull, boring and quick. It lacked emotion and passion but it is still a classic kiss.

9. Cendrillon and Prince Charming
The end Kiss was CLASSIC but it was boring and lacked emotion but it was still a beautiful ending to a beautiful story!

8. Sorry if I'm bashing out at the classic princesses! Aurora's Kiss had a drop of intensity in it and I l’amour how she brightens up after the kiss! It is truly a CLASSIC kiss!

10 Snow White

Snow White is pretty. Although she is referred as a young woman with skin as white as the snow, lips as red as a rose and hair as dark as a raven I don’t find her that beautiful. I don’t like her hair, the shape of her face and her nose.

9 Rapunzel

Rapunzel has beautiful hair, I l’amour both her long- blonde and short- brown hair. She has lovely eyes- color but her eyes are too big. The problem with Rapunzel is that she is 3D princess and her features seem weird to me. I’d prefer her as 2D, she would be plus beautiful. Now she’s just cute and pretty.

Prince Risstan, the one my aunt and uncle wanted me to marry. I would have to obey them, they are my guardians. Prince Risstan was a vain, proud...

Chapter One—Letter of Love

Many young maidens dream to get married and to find their true loves. One young maiden in particular was very happy upon fining such a true love. She was a chubby, short lady with a red bow on her short black hair, and constantly adorned an adorable smile. Her name was Snow White, and she grinned happily while she was riding her prince’s horse toward her castle.
As the two of them approached the Prince’s castle, the two of them happily kissed. Joyfully thinking about her marriage while she ended her Kiss with her...

When I reached the parking lot, a shiny black convertible waited for me at the curb.
"Hello, beautiful," it greeted in a British accent.
I staggered back. "A talking car?!"
"Oh, don't fuss, love. Anything's possible." The driver door opened automatically.
I climbed inside and put my hands on the wheel. "This is sooo much better than my pickup truck."
The car made a disgusted sound. "Pickup trucks. Disgusting things. It should've been a crime to invent them."
"By the way, what's your name?" I asked as I started the car.
"You may call me Car. Simple." He sounded smug.
Let's see what else this...

He glared at me through his glasses. "You're late."
"By one minute!" I groaned.
He flipped through the pages quickly. "Listen, Jeannette, I--"
"ALEXIS," I corrected him.

salut everybody, so I was watching Pocahontas this morning and I thought it was amazing as usual, but everytime I see it I can´t help myself from thinking about the sequel (which I know some people say is plus historicaly accurate, but who cares about that? I mean, it's Diney). No disrespect for those who do like the sequel. I'm not saying it's altogether bad, but the whole thing just seems a bit unnatural and rushed to me, considering the events of the first film. I'm just not feeling the chemistry between Rolfe and Pocahontas. Anyway, I came up with my own ending, for the sake of fun, and...

OK, hi everyone! *waves* I'm sort of a lurker here. This is my first article in this spot. I haven't watched Raiponce ou the Princess and the Frog (because both films came out when I was studying for my exams. Damn!), so I won't include Tiana ou Rapunzel in this list. I probably will incorporate them in a later list, once I've watched both movies.

Anyway, so here are my favourite princesses (starting from the least favourite one.) I'll also write what I think is their main characteristic.
