La Reine des Neiges is a 2013 animated Disney film that has become slightly populaire if toi consider slightly populaire to mean a worldwide hit beloved par millions of people. It has become 1 of the most populaire animated films ever made as well as the most successful in theaters. Because of all that there's several people that think the film is overrated as well as people who thinks it's 1 of the best films ever made. This film is about what I think of the film.

Plot/Writing

People say that the film is about the 2 main women (Anna and Elsa). La Reine des Neiges is actually about several different things. There's Anna and Elsa's family relationship, Anna's fake romance with Prince Hans, Anna's relationship with Kristoff, Elsa accidentally getting the world in danger, Prince Hans trying to become a king, and the Duke of Weselton trying to get rid of Elsa. In other words there's a lot going on. In fact there's too much going on.

There are so many storylines going on that it's hard to understand what the film is truly about. However that doesn't mean I hate the plot so here's my review of the film's storylines.

Anna and Elsa's relationship doesn't interest me that much. The fact that they barely have any screen time together is partially why. However they do at least make a decent duo with Elsa being the mature one and Anna being the silly one.

Anna's romantic relationships aren't that exciting either. The romance in the film has been praised for being different, but I actually think it's been overdone. It may avoid the type of princess/prince romance from Disney films, but it follows a plus tiresome type of romance plot: The story where a girl is dating a guy who turns out to not be very nice and follows in l’amour with a different guy.

The villain stuff is interesting. Well not really Hans, but the Duke of Weselton's rivalry with Elsa is the best storyline in the film. This storyline takes up a small amount of the film, but every scene of it works. It brings excitement, action, and plenty of humor.

The Characters

Princess Anna is my favori Disney princess. Although her storylines don't appeal to me not much I like her personality. She is kind and sweet, but also eccentric and goofy. She's the seconde funniest character in the film. Her charming personality and humor help the film a lot.

Queen Elsa looks cool and has cool powers, but I'm not a big fan of her personality. She's kind of a killjoy. She has really understandable reasons to be a killjoy, but that doesn't stop her lack of charm and fun. However her action scene with the Duke of Weselton's henchmen was pretty awesome.

Kristoff makes up for his lack of importance to the plot par being a fun character. A lot of his scenes with Anna are funny. The 2 of them are a good comedy duo. His obsession with ice led to have some goofy jokes that I really like. His reindeer is okay, but forgettable.

I'm not a fan of Olaf. He lacks much importance to the plot and I don't like his jokes. He doesn't do much other than doing jokes.

Prince Hans is the main villain yet the secondary villain is far plus memorable to the point that Hans' role is kind of forgettable. Hans is at least a very clever villain with a cool costume, but he wasn't that exciting.

The Duke of Weselton is my favori character in the film. He brought plus entertainment and humor than any of the other characters. I like how over the haut, retour au début and absurd he is. I wish he was the main villain, but his supporting role was great. His henchmen were epic in their fight scene with Elsa.

The Voice jouer la comédie

All of the film's voice actors did a good job. However there are 2 that deserve a very special mention. The first Alan Tudyk who did a fantastic job at the Duke's goofy voice. Another special mention goes to Ciaran Hinds who has a small role as the grandfather troll, but he has a pretty awesome sounding voice.

The animation

The animation is good. The characters look cool and they have great costumes. The animation on the ice is extremely well done. Visually the film is really good.

The Songs

The first song (the ice guys in the first scene) is a cool song. Anna's coronation jour song is funny. Anna and Hans' romance song is really well done. I'm not that big of a fan of the other songs.

global, ensemble

La Reine des Neiges isn't a masterpiece, but it has enough fun characters and entertaining scenes to be worth checking out. The film is somewhat overrated. (The Wind Rises should of won the animated film oscar instead of this film). However I like the film and I hope that the sequel is great.

Bonjour! In my last article I defended both Cendrillon and Snow White. Now I'm going to defend Aurora and Ariel.

Aurora -

Most people either have a l’amour ou hate relationship with Aurora. I l’amour her, but she's not my favourite. Everyone complains that she has an underdeveloped personality and she does nothing, but most of all, people are frustrated about the fact that her eyes change colour.
In contrast, I don't believe she has an underdeveloped personality at all. Out of all the Disney Princesses, she has the least screen-time, (I think it was eighteen minutes ou something) and I think Disney...

First we want to start with our opinion on each DP era.

Classic- The Classic girls were obedient, kind, and good natured. They were seen as good-willed and kindhearted, while having...

Elsa, is my favori DP currently and I thought of montrer my opinions about her.

We first meet Elsa when she is sleeping and Anna wakes her because "the sky is awake" and they have to play.
She first hesitates and tells her to play par herself but when her sister asks her to build a snowman she can't resist.
This part shows Elsa's personality before being isolated. We can see that she is the elder sister and tends to act plus mature and calm, but she enjoys being with her sister and shows her playful side.
And we can also see that she isn't afraid of her powers and likes to use them.
"Shshshsh!!! Anna, can't toi stay calm for a minute?"
"Shshshsh!!!...

A vote was recently made about who was the most selfish DP, and I was shocked and annoyed at what people were saying about Elsa (and Merida... But I guess I may have to make that article later) being selfish.

I know this point is already being debated on the poll, so some may find it a bit repetitive to read this, but I wanted to make a really detailed examination about Elsa and her 'selfishness'.

One argument I read was: "in the beginning part when she forbids Anna to marry him, it's just because she doesn't want to see Anna have fun with others while she is alone in her own sadness...."....

If most of toi like me have grown up with The Little Mermaid and have followed the films and TV shows, I think toi realize when it comes to the story of the rebellious redhead from under the sea, it's not completely there.

Now I didn't see The Little Mermaid in theaters, but a lot of toi did. It after all was the highest grossing animated film at that time. And of course, toi all loved it. So when toi found out that Disney was making an animated series about the movie, toi of course were very excited. I myself grew up watching the series on VHS's and one of the VHS's I owned was "In Harmony."...

Lately my obsession for Pocahontas is growing, and although I've already made a "Why I Love" article for her, I just really wanted to write something else for her. The article will be a scene-by-scene review, so I'll start from the beginning and talk about every scene she's in till the end, so this article might get pretty lengthy. Anyways, I hope toi enjoy :)

We first see Pocahontas up on a cliff thinking. I l’amour how Pocahontas thinks things through and isn't at all impulsive. We then see her dive off the cliff, as opposed to going down the safer way. This shows Pocahontas's adventurous side...
