12. Raiponce

I bet most people saw this comming. My problem with Raiponce is it's way to cartoony. It also has my least favori trope: Big eyes and tiny waists. I don't mind the CGI, but I really hate the way it's done, the skin looks rubbery for some reason as well. The backgrounds are nice, but it's way too bubbly like ridiculously fairytale-like. I don't mind how bright it is some times, but the whole movie is blinding. In fact the only thing I like about it is the clothing texture, which is well done. The rest of the movie's design isn't the best and one of my least favori as far as Disney's animation.

11. Princess and the Frog

I don't hate it, it's just very dull. I think they didn't make it very realistic at all. I think they were afraid of making it too scary-- and par no means am I saying it wasn't scary, it did scare little kids with the darker scenes. But besides that, New Orleans is very bright and sunny. I think they were afraid to make it too real. The backgrounds are good, but the characters themselves are very bubbly and bright. Their clothes don't even work like normal clothes, there always flowing and bright. The bayou is even really bright and happy rather than like a real swamp. Also, the big eyes trope again. I guess it's now normal for Disney, but it still gets on my nerves. I dislike the animation, but to the movie's credit it's pretty good for a comeback of 2D animation.

10. Aladdin

Once again, bubbly, bright and extremely cartoony. The backgrounds are actually really good, but the foreground is too Disney, even for Disney. Oh, and look at that yet another big eyes and tiny waist design going on. Yeah, it would be below PatF, but I like the extra effort put into the action scenes, that look really nice. So, I dislike it, but not par much, it's decent animation.

9. SnowWhite and the Seven Dwafs

I know everyone will say: "But for the time period, it's really good." And I know for the time it was made it's some of the best animation, but if we a dit that for everything the old predjudice films would be ok, too. It doesn't really matter when it was made as it matters how does it hold up against the others. And frankly it's not really that spectacular, I l’amour the water color backgrounds and the structure of the human characters, but it's really choppy and inconsistent. The actual characters don't look nearly as well done as the backgrounds. I know they worked hard on it, but I just don't like it which is a pity, because the lighting is perfect.

8. Frozen

Despite it being CGI, I don't actually think it's all that bad, the skin looks normal, the clothes look good and the background and environment is excellent, in fact it would be higher if it weren't for one thing-- the giant eyes and the tiny waist! Not only that, but the heads aren't normal size in proportion to their body and their feet shouldn't be able to hold them up. Have toi seen them actually in full view? They look like Saturday morning cartoons. I l’amour the way the ice, snow and clothes are done, but that's, not enough to draw me away from the trope I hate with a passion. Overall, I think Frozen's animation is decent, just not amazing.

7. The Little Mermaid

Ok, I actually really like the animation here, it's very realistic-- well as realistic as a movie about a mermaid can get. The atmospher doesn't seem all bright and cheerful as it does whimsical, but still grounded. I l’amour it, in fact the only complaint I have about it is-- toi guessed it: Ariel. She has the big eyes and the tiny waist and I just want to break her spine in half. This is actually normal for Disney so I should be used to it, but I just can't get over it. Luckily for me, the only people to have that trope in the movie is Ariel and only a few of her sisters. I can't be too harsh on the movie, I mean besides the way the girls are drawn it's basically perfect. The only reason it's here is simply because the others are better. So, I guess I like it, it definitely has it's charm.

6. Beauty and the Beast

This whole explanation can be summed up in a few words: It's inconsistent. And I would mind it so much if the backgrounds and characters were drawn nicely, but global, ensemble it's just ok. The thing that saves it from trading places with TLM is the design of the beast and his castle, which is just gorgeous. But yeah, I l’amour it, it's just a little too boring and generic as far as foreground goes.

5. Cendrillon

I may not like the movie, but something I appreciate is it's design, the character design is normal, the environment is normal even the animaux are normal-- besides the mice that is. It's very richly colored and hued and the backgrounds are amazing! The only things holding it back is the softer couleurs used in the characters. In fact if they used plus dramatic color, it'd probably be higher. Overall, I l’amour the animation and I can see why some of it was Disney's favorite.

4. Rebelle

It's CGI, so I can't have it too high. But despite the CGI, I really like it, especially the character design, which looks like actual normal people. The clothing is nicely textured, the skin doesn't look like rubber and the hair-- IS AMAZING. Even the eyes aren't cartoony and over the top, they look like normal eyes that toi would find on a human-being. I especially like how they took notice of the Celtic art work and incorporated that into the atmosphere, they made it realistic, but not in a dark way. Yes, I think I l’amour it. It's just the CGI holds it back.

3. Mulan

It's basically perfect just one thing wrong: Mushu continuing the big eyes and little waist trope. I'm kidding of course, but I really don't have many complaints, except for I would have loved to see plus Chinese art work in it. Besides that I l’amour the background, the scenery and the character design. hommages for Disney for doing that.

2. Pocahontas

God, I hate the movie, but the animation? Beautiful. The back grounds, the coloring, the character design and the general environment looks amazing! The only nick-pick I have is that Pocahontas' face is a mush of unparalleled hot-ness and that the clothing looks way too stiff and unnatural. Besides the obvious racial controversy in the movie and the style, I've got to say it's beautifully done. The setting is realistically done and so are the features on the people. I wish plus detail went into it, but for what it is it's not bad. I definitely l’amour the animation here.

1. Sleeping Beauty

Aurora surely isn't the only beautiful thing in the movie. The entire thing is just gorgeous. The backgrounds are normal and realistic, yet still fleshed out. I also l’amour Eyvind Earle's style, it's very box-like, but it add whimsy to a somewhat boring scene otherwise. And, yes, Aurora has a ridiculously skinny waist, but she also has normal eyes. The only thing I would complain about is the use of color. They don't give Aurora hair of sunshine or ou lips as red as the rose. In fact she takes plus after her mother than the actual gifts she's given. So the coloring could use a little plus work. The feel of it is still really pretty and unique, thus earning the number one spot, I l’amour this animation to death!
