Yeah, I know, Valentine’s Day, it’s cliché, but I’m a singleton, as well as one of those nerds who does her homework early, so I really have nothing better to do. Why not write an article about the couples on the jour of love? So, I decided I will do a DP couple article today while I watch Aladin so I can tell my dad where it pixelates so we can get it replaced.
10. Cendrillon and Charming
Cendrillon is a lovely woman, sweet, gentle, kind, beautiful, there’s really nothing bad about her. Charming, he doesn’t really do much, but what he does really rubs me the wrong way. He seems very stiff and stilted, not much personality, and all he does is roll his eyes at the ugly sisters and yawn. I get that part of that was most likely rebellion, but that’s not all. His initial attraction to Cendrillon was based on looks, that’s just a simple fact. There were only two other princes whose initial attraction was due to the princess’s looks, Aladin and John Smith; all the other ones at least he liked her voice, which can display some emotion. Now, he does talk to her for a while, which is plus than can be a dit for some others- but he never asked her for her name. Really, how deep can the conversation have been if he never asked her name? I am convinced Cendrillon was simply being an opportunist and forced herself to fall for him to get out of her situation, though I will admit I am partly of this mindset because I just can’t find any other explanation for someone as lovely as Cendrillon falling for someone with as little personality as Charming.
9. jasmin and Aladdin
Lies and masquerades, what better foundation for a relationship? This really bother me. The theme of this relationship is that Aladin lies, jasmin gets angry, but a few secondes later she suddenly forgets it all and forgives him everything- even though he has done it time and time before. Also, even though jasmin claims she is not a prize to be won, Aladin treats her as such, and she puts up with it. However, Aladin and jasmin do have some meaningful conversations, and Aladin does at least at some points apologize for what he does, and he does realize that what he is doing is wrong (most of the time.) They also have some nice chemistry and are very obviously in love, so I can at least stand them.
8. Belle and Beast
This is a couple I like a lot plus in theory than actuality. I like the idea of how Beast is amer and angry from his years as a… Beast, and then meets this woman who makes him see the light, and he realizes he is tired of life as an angry, amer person, and learns to stop giving in to his anger. However, I find the romance under developed. Ironic considering it is often hailed as the greatest l’amour story of all time. The segments they montrer just seem disjointed, it doesn’t flow as one l’amour story. However, he does give Belle a library, and that is just awesome how romantic it is but so unique and how it has to do with her intelligence.
7. Aurora and Phillip
These two might not have many lines ou much screen time, but their compatibility and chemistry is great. They both have a regal nature about them even when they are out of their royal role that is just wonderful. They just have this elegant royal aura about them when they are together that toi have no trouble believing they are a prince and princess. And they are just so cute together!
6. Pocahontas and John Smith
All three couples with a man whose interest was sparked par looks are in the bottom five. Coincidence? Actually, it might be, I never thought about it before écriture this. Anyway, one thing that bothers me about this relationship is John’s attitude. He has a very superior attitude and doesn’t seem to really respect Pocahontas, nor really anyone of the tribe, for quite some time. Also, think about it- after sparing Pocahontas, would he still have wiped out her people, and then- done what with her? However, John does learn from Pocahontas, which I really do like. He is willing to listen to what she says, and that says at least something. Also, they have an undeniable passion and feu everyone seems to love.
5. Ariel and Eric
From this point on, couples are only lower than others because I simply l’amour the other more. I really l’amour how these two completely accept each other for who they are. Eric loves everything about Ariel, flaws and all. Despite Ariel not having a voice, she is extremely expressive and does some very zany things. Even when she sends their carriage over a ravine, after he gets over the fear of death, he doesn’t care at all and lets her keep going, even putting his hands behind his head and relaxing. I also respect how Eric wants to take it slow, though this isn’t the right relationship for that. Even after meeting the girl with the voice, Eric falls for Ariel completely. And even though it was l’amour at first sight, they still have to work at their relationship and take time to build it, which I love. These two l’amour each other completely, and that is something that is easy to underestimate but very difficult to find.
4. Rapunzel and Flynn
This couple really works well together in my eyes. I l’amour how these two bring out the best in each other. Rapunzel inspires Flynn to give up his life as an image and reform, and also provides someone he can be himself with. Flynn cares about Rapunzel’s independence plus than she herself does, and he encourages her to value her freedom and become her own person, not just “magic hair that glows when I sing.” Each helps the other become secure in his- ou herself. Flynn supports Rapunzel when she reunites with her parents. They work together as a team to achieve their goals, neither really holds power over the other. Also, they aren’t attached at the hip- neither NEEDS the other. They are both separate people, but the whole is greater than the sum of its parts, and I really l’amour that.
3. Mulan and Shang
Yes, I l’amour these two together, I am a freak, I know. However, I think these two work really well together- and I mean work together! One thing we need to keep in mind is that this couple’s relationship begins as the movie ends, so toi can only really judge their relationship par how their personalities would mesh- and I think they go really well together. Mulan is somewhat erratic, due in part to her incredible intelligence, and her plans rarely have been in the making for years- usually, they were only in the making for seconds. Shang, on the other hand, is very organized, disciplined, and thought out. He balances her, and she opens his eyes. One of my favori things about this couple is how Mulan exposes Shang to new ideas and makes him think through things he had simply taken as facts of life before and evaluate his beliefs. These two went through thick and thin together, and through that grew a strong friendship. I really see these two lasting. They are stronger united than divided because they both bring different ideas to the table. And to haut, retour au début it all off, I just l’amour Shang’s awkward cuteness!
2. Snow White and the Prince
There are a lot of logical flaws about this couple. Like, have they ever had a conversation? But they just are so cute! They are like two little kids playing family. People often say that the Prince did nothing for Snow White, but that’s not true. He was looking for her for months! toi can really see how much they l’amour each other. After s’embrasser her goodbye, he hangs his head in sorrow, and after Snow White wakes up and they see each other, both just have looks of such pure elation on their faces! This is l’amour at its purest, and toi just can’t hate it!
1. Tiana and Naveen
I have no real logical explanation for why it is I l’amour these two so much, I just do. I never saw Naveen as the huge jerk he is always labeled, I just saw him as an overgrown schoolboy who never had to experience the real world. I l’amour that, through his experience with Tiana, he learned that life wasn’t the big party that he thought it was and that toi had to work for what your dreams. I also l’amour that Tiana learned that, while work is important, it will never give toi the happiness healthy relationships with people toi l’amour will. They’re kind of like Ron and Hermione, the super relaxed (kind-of) slacker and the tightly wound work horse with a temper, and Ron and Hermione are my canon, cannon Harry Potter OTP. I also l’amour how I can see their relationship evolve. I can see how they go from annoying each other to learning how to work with each other to in love. Also, I l’amour how Tiana tries to hide her feelings from herself and from others too, because I totally do that. And in the end, they both work together for Tiana’s restaurant. Again, I have no very good explanation why, I just l’amour these two together!
