A rant on Cinderella, étoile, star of the Disney Princess franchise.

Obviously, as many would know, Cendrillon is easily the most populaire princess on a global scale. But why? Here are some reasons. Her story is one of, it not the most well known fairytale of all time. Though she is beautiful, her features are rather typical. This means she can be used to represent all the princesses. Her movie was a massive hit that started a cycle of successful films(Alice In Wonderland, Peter Pan). Not to mention, her iconic dress and glass slipper. And finally, her movie is the favori of Walt Disney himself. It's clear to see why Cendrillon is so universally loved.

Like Mulan, there aren't alot of negative things to say about Cinderella. But If there's one thing that bothers me, is that she's too passive. She lacks the courage to simply to stand up to her wicked stepfamily. There is no real reason for Cendrillon to be intimidated par them. Though her patient and humble nature is admirable, it can be somewhat irritating. She is basically a slave in own her accueil and doesn't seem to be interested in making things better, except for dreaming and wishing. While having faith is a good thing, it's also important to be assertive when needed and take control of your own destiny.

Let's talk about the mice, like other sidekicks they are the unspoken Heroes of the film. If it wasn't for Jaq and Gus, Cendrillon would have probably spent the rest of her life as a maid. They've constantly put their own lives at risk in helping "Cinderelly". Willingly putting themselves in danger for the sake of others. While it is hard to take such hilarious, goofy and cartoony characters seriously, Jaq, Gus, and the mice are indeed Heroes in their own right and clearly care deeply about Cinderella. An honourable mention must also go to Bruno the bloodhound, the birds and of course the Fairygod mother.

Because she's from the classic era, many people see Cendrillon as a damsel in distress, which is really unfair. A distressed damsel is someone is a woman in mortal peril. Cendrillon has never been in any real danger. There's also a conception that she was rescued par a prince. This is only a technicality as Charming never actively searched for her. Yes, it is his hand in marriage that ultimately gets out of her bad situation but it was Jaq, Gus and Bruno who saved her. She's the only princess who's sidekicks are far plus reliable than her prince. With that said, Cendrillon has never relied on a man for anything.

People seem to forget to take personality into account when talking about the princesses as role models. There are many aspects of Cinderella's personality that make her worthy of admiration. Firstly, she's patient and kind, she treats her stepfamily with respect no matter how cruel they are and refuses to sink to their level. Secondly, she's faithful, she keeps hoping for a better life, no matter how gloomy her situation. Lastly, she's very genuine and real. The harsh treatment still affects her to some extent and she actually breaks down when it becomes too much. All this combined with her "princessy" traits make Cendrillon a great role model.

Cendrillon is also one of few princess who's sequels must be mentioned particularly A Twist In Time. Of course, like any modern telling of the Cendrillon fairytale, she is transformed into a strong, independent and feminist friendly woman, silencing common criticisms of the princess. Though this is abit irritating, it is refreshing to see Cendrillon taking intiative and actually earning her happy ending.

As much as I l’amour the Disney Company, I hate what they've done to Cinderella. Her gorgeous silver ballgown was changed to a bright blue color and her beautiful fraise blonde hair was changed to bright yellow, not blonde, yellow. I always questioned Disney's choice for doing this. Is it a marketing strategy? I really don't get it. It's really saying something about modern soceity when even the beautiful features of Cendrillon aren't good enough and must be altered.

It's arguable to say whether ou not Cinderella's perfect. She's delicate, poised, beautiful and other basic traits one would want in a princess. She's also abit of pushover and not very brave. Unfortunately, the film never really acknowledges how passive and timid she is. So as far as the movie's concerned Cendrillon is perfect but to us she is not as flawless as she's made out to be.

To me Cendrillon represents strength, from within. She puts up with tragedy, humiliation and abuse and still manages to have faith and keep singing. Many people would be suffering from depression if they lived her life but Cendrillon keeps her head held high.
 Team Belle?
Team Belle?
Hi guys, I'm going to be écriture why I felt that Cendrillon is better than Beauty and the Beast. No, it's not their animated counterparts, I'm referring to their respective live-action counterparts.

The Characters

In Cinderella, the titre character's role was expanded unlike her animated counterpart. Her character development has significantly improve and I'm very happy about it, because we get to plus about Cendrillon and how she got her trademark name. Which is taken from the original fairy-tale!
Whereas in Beauty and the Beast, they actually copycat the animated feature, Belle's and the...

First let me apologize for the pictures. My life is confiture packed right now and I wanted to get this article published seeing as that we are already past jasmin month. So I used tiffany88's moodboards instead.

Well, it's that time again, now that jasmin mois has ended to give toi my liste of who I think Jasmine's favori princesses would be. Sorry that it's a little late. As always, I don't profess to be an expert on this. Also, I eventually just ended up posting this because I couldn't really come to a conclusion.

Yeah...I think we all saw this one coming. Though it's predictable,...

Thanks to Princesslullaby's récent vote questions, I ended up looking at my own childhood vs. each Disney Princess's childhood. Some of this is just painful for me, and there is no getting around that.

My categories of adverse childhood situations (some with severe adverse conditions) are based on evaluation from the domestic violence class I took. I'll be frank. I have my own dissociation/childhood trauma.

This is an article where I'm defining where I'd group categories of adverse childhood experiences, specifically for the Disney Princesses. I'll also add in how each princess copes with their...

This revisionist fairytale, while less inspired than average Pixar fare, boasts typical awe-inspiring animation and flare. The contemporary story of mother-daughter bonding is a step in a new direction, but the main problem is the convoluted execution and the fact that Merida craves adventure but is stuck in a mother-daughter psychodrama.

"I've only seen it once so I don't have too much to say about this one. What I remembered about it is that I loved Merida and really felt connected to her and her mom's relationship. I was invested in their story and wanted it to work out well...

 Don Carlo
Don Carlo
Hi guys, since my younger brother loves classical musique especially opera. I will write down some of the perfect opera that features princesses in it, ready?

Don Carlo (Giuseppe Verdi)

Based on a true story about the real Don Carlos, the Infante of Spain and son of King Philip II of Spain. He was originally betrothed to Elisabeth of Valois, but because of his madness, she married the King instead.

Turandot (Giacomo Puccini)

Actually, I don't mind if Disney were to make another Chinese princess. The signature song 'Nessun Dorma' is the most populaire aria ever and it is sung par Pavarotti (RIP) and...

Note: Captain slip, caleçons and La Reine des Neiges not owned and created par me. This story takes place after the Captain slip, caleçons animated film. This story is for Fanfiction and Fanpop. Things at Mr. Krupp's school were actually going pretty good. Mr. Krupp often got mad at the antics of George Beard and Harold Hutchins, but the 3 of them became semi friendly rivals instead of being straight up enemies.

George Beard a dit "Things sure better now."

Harold Hutchins nervously a dit "Do toi think that things will get worse?"

George a dit "No way."

Harold a dit "I just hope that Professor Poopypants doesn't plan...
