Princesses Disney Question

I have a Belle question...

Just wondering, how is Belle considered a princess? Isn't she a peasant? For pretty much the whole movie she wasn't royalty at all, so I don't understand. Someone please unconfuse me.

The Beast was really a prince, so we assume that, although it isn't shown, they get married. That would make Belle a princess. She, Cendrillon and Tiana are the only Princesses who married into royalty (if toi count Mulan than four, but she married a general. She's still a princess to me though)

It really aggrivates me that people say that their marriage isn't shown in the movie. The very final scene with the stained-glass window is of both Belle and the Prince wearing royal crowns. Belle would ONLY be wearing a crown if she had married the prince so I think it goes without saying that she marries into royalty. But she doesn't spend any plus time as a peasant than Cendrillon ou Tiana and yet they're considered princesses.
