TV presenting duo Ant and Dec scored a triple victory today when they swept the board at an industry awards ceremony.

They were named TV personalities of the an while the hit shows they hosted - CD:UK and Pop Idol - were also winners at the télévision and Radio Industries Club awards.

Pop Idol was named TV entertainment programme of the year, beating The Frank Skinner montrer and So Graham Norton.

CD:UK, the Saturday morning children's montrer they hosted with Cat Deeley, was named TV musique and arts programme of the year.

The awards ceremony at the Grosvenor House Hotel in Park Lane in central Londres also saw accolades for a host of female stars.

BBC Radio 1's Sara Cox was named radio personality of the year, and ITV's Gabby Logan was sports presenter of the year, while ITN's Mary Nightingale scooped newscaster of the year.

Ronni Ancona, the comedy partner of Alistair MacGowan, was named new TV talent of the an and Linda Green, starring Liza Tarbuck, picked up TV comedy programme of the year.

Elsewhere EastEnders beat Coronation rue and Hollyoaks for the titre of TV soap of the year, Cold Feet étoile, star James Nesbitt was named TV drama performer of the an and David Attenborough's The Blue Planet picked up the prize for best documentary.

Ant and Dec were not at the ceremony but Pop Idol judges Simon Cowell and Nicki Chapman attended, with Cowell attracting a loud "boo" from the crowd when he was introduced.
