The suivant morning.
Pretty much the entire population of Mystic Falls was gathered outside the Lockwood Mansion. Sheriff Forbes was standing on a small stage, behind a microphone. She was saying some nice words about Tyler.
Carol sat on the front row, Caroline suivant to her. Caroline’s face was wet from tears, but Carol hadn’t shed a single tear yet. The pain was too deep for tears to take it away.
“Mind if I sit here?” a British voice asked. Caroline recognized it, but didn’t look up. She nodded and Klaus sat down.
“It’s really sad, isn’t it?”
Without looking at him Caroline mumbled: “The only reason I let toi sit here is because I don’t want to make a scene. So sit down and shut up”
In the meantime Liz had finished her speech and someone else, someone they didn’t know took the stage.
“Hello, everyone” the young man said. He was holding a piece of paper in his hand and they thought he was going to give a speech as well. However…”My name is Jack Chambers” Hearing that name Caroline’s eyebrows furrowed and several people started talking out loud. “Okay, wait, before toi jump into conclusions, hear me out” Jack pleaded. “Yes, Veronica Chambers was my sister. I know what she did to the people in this town. I know she killed Tyler Lockwood. I want toi to know I’m not like that. Mrs. Lockwood will be resigning from her position as a mayor and I was so kind to offer to take her place. For the time being, of course. There’s going to be an official election” He held up the piece of paper. “I have here a liste of all the Supernatural beings in this town. My sister believed every single one of them was evil. I don’t share that opinion. We are all children of God. I want us to try and live in peace with each other. So, when a vampire ou a werewolf harms someone, we’ll think of a proper punishment. But if not, then we will treat them like we wish to be treated”
He left the stage and walked away, and the people started talking out loud again.
“Well” Klaus a dit as he stood. “This should be interesting”
