As far as I understand, stills for 3x20 “Do Not Go Gentle” have confused Delena-shippers. Let me get this straight. We had two seasons (almost three) of Delena’s complicated relationship full of ups and downs and we are not going to give up ou get upset because of some stills. We will survive this. We always survive. Now, let’s get to it.

Stills for 320 reveal Stefan and Elena interacting on the dance floor (dancing, holding hands in front of Damon, hugging/crying). My advice: sit back and calm down.

According to spoilers and synopsis:

Caroline urges Elena to invite Stefan. It wasn’t just Elena’s decision, it was Caroline’s conseil which then again convinced Elena to ask Stefan. This means that Elena had doubts, she needed someone to tell her what to do.
Damon is somewhere busy with revealing spells and figuring out what to do with Ric, so he doesn’t really have time to hang out with Elena on the dance floor.
According to JP’s tweets:
Stefan has a heartbreaking scene in 320.
320 is not bad for DE, just not DE centric.
toi see, there’s nothing that could possibly make Stefan and Elena reunite as a couple. If they did, then 320 would suck for Damon and Elena but it doesn’t (according to Julie). If they did, there would be no logic in 319. 319 is a DELENA episode and we are encouraged to have high expectations. Making Elena jump back to Stefan would be very OOC. And that’s definitely not the goal the writers are willing to attain.

Here’s my take on the situation. They are dancing because Elena invited Stefan to the dance. Nothing wrong with dancing with your date, right? They are holding hands because they were dancing a seconde il y a and Damon caught them off guard (I think). Elena’s crying and Stefan’s comforting her because Damon is busy and Stefan is the only one around (not that Stefan and Elena are not in l’amour but…) and somebody’s dead ou dying and this somebody is close to Elena. ou it’s another heartbreaking Stelena scene, some sort of closure for them. ou IDK. But Elena basically needs a shoulder to cry on and Stefan is there for her this time. Nothing wrong with that, right?

We should all calm down and watch 319 first. Then things will get twisted because the finale is coming soon. They only have 4 episodes left. AND THEY EXPECT US TO BE CONFUSED. Stelena fans will have to ours with 319 (although there are going to be some nice Stefan moments) and we will have to ours with the lack of Delena in 320. We are going to suffer in the suivant 4 episodes and we have to get over it. It’s just the way the montrer has to go, toi know.

And let me remind you. Damon got under Elena’s skin and she can’t shake him. Stefan can’t be with her as long as “she has feelings for somebody else”. What SE reunion are toi talking about?

DELENA FAMILY, WE ARE plus THAN WE ARE. WE STICK TOGETHER AS ONE. ALWAYS AND FOREVER. It may be hard for Delena but it’s always worth it.

delenasalvatore I think some fans are overreacting and/or over-analysing 3x20 before we've even seen what happens in 3x19. But there are always fans who do that. Like when 3x01 aired: total panic alert. Stefan calls Elena up and even though she has no idea who she's talking to, reassures him of her love. It was only a short scene, but for some reason, a lot of DE fans reacted as though Julie Plec was running through their living room with "STELENA 4 ENDGAME' tattooed on her arm: "DE might as well be dead, because Elena will always love Stefan!" sob cry hyperventilate. What happened? Uh, nothing. Or what about 3x14? Or when Damon hooked up with Rebekah? Or when the new trailer for 3x16/17 aired and we found out that there might be something with Sage? Did any of these episodes signal that DE would never recover? Obviously not. Unfortunately, a certain number of the fandom ALWAYS hit the panic button and get upset, and they really DON'T have to. There is no need. But they get all worked up, and succeed in getting everyone else worked up too, because the ones who are already panicking think: 'I'm not the only one who thinks the worst, that means I'm right', and the ones who are optimistic (like I usually am) feel depressed that so many fans lack confidence in DE after all this time. I got quite annoyed at what some fans were posting on the wall the other day. I think I will have to avoid the wall completely until everyone settles down. I have complete faith in DE. If other people don't, then it sucks for them. It's not my job, or anyone's job in this fandom to make them feel better just because they're suffering from an attack of nerves. If their confidence is so easily swayed by a couple of pictures, then I would question how much they love DE and why they ship them at all - DE are never going to have an easy journey. But if that's what they want, then they would be better off picking another couple to ship. Seriously, I find it so maddening that people aren't more optimistic. But if they want to be miserable, then that's up to them. I will continue loving DE, and I, and other fans like me, should not feel obligated to reassure them just because a few pictures have made them so down in the dumps. If that's all it takes to upset them, maybe they shouldn't ship DE.

HaleyDewit Well, I haven't seen those pictures, so I couldn't be bothered. I heard a lot about it and so I avoided them.

MelodyLaurel Couldn't agree more. Guys, this is not the first time we see SE dancing and cuddling on the dance floor. Why are you so miserable about it? Wasn't the 'rough journey' the reason we ship DE in the first place? Well then you need to remember that this pairing does not come easy, and like delenasalvatore said, if you can't take a few stills, I suggest you go and ship Ken & Barbie. Or some Disney couple. Really, it's heartbreaking to see half the fandom go nuts because of a few pictures.
