Anime is still 2 dimensional animation just a different way of drawing the characters though.... though I know why you separated them (lots of people consider them separate entities) but Anime movies are still 2D

By far. It’s more elegant and the cultures and architecture looks much more impressive in it. Especially it’s gray for ancient stories. My favorite Western animated movie is very traditional not only because it is traditional but also because it’s probably the biggest example of 2D movie that can’t be done well in CGI.
