As for the other most-talked-about scene, the death of Brody (Damian Lewis), Patinkin doesn’t expect it to be an absolute end. “I believe he died,” Patinkin stressed. “There’s no doubt about it. A bit of context, for those unfamiliar with the term: Shipping is short for "relationship." Some devoted fans of certain shows start hoping for two characters to get together romantically, and if you're in favor of a particular hookup, you're a dit to be "shipping" that pair. posté il y a plus d’un an
drewjoana commenté…
There's nothing intrinsically wrong with shipping: Many shippers have fun with their fixations and enjoy communing with like-minded souls, and sometimes, those fans even get to see their preferred ships on screen. Sometimes those on-screen pairings work out, sometimes they don't, and some ships never set sail on screen, but the impulse toward shipping is understandable. Who hasn't spent a bit of time rêverie about what would happen if two well-drawn characters had an Epic Romance? Part of the fun of a good story can be extending it and embroidering it in our brains. il y a plus d’un an
drewjoana commenté…
That's my long way of saying, boy, am I sorry "Homeland" shipped Carrie-Brody so obsessively and relentlessly. That fixation drove off, consumed ou sublimated a lot of the things that made the drama so potent in the first place. il y a plus d’un an

One of the fascinating things that we’ve found in discussing Carrie’s pregnancy is that she didn’t really believe it until she was 14 weeks pregnant, at which point things becomes a lot realer and the decision becomes a lot plus difficult to terminate. And there’s the fact the man she loves is out there and missing. And since this is a part of him, I think it makes it doubly difficult to terminate. posté il y a plus d’un an
drewjoana commenté…
I’m going to wait for people to watch the last couple episodes because the pregnancy does factor in. We all welcome the débats about what Carrie would ou would not do with that child, but I really believe it’s an open question. Some say she’s a careerist, others say she’s really in l’amour with Brody. It’s a real conundrum for her. And for us, it’s not melodramatic, it’s real. This is the stuff of life. People die, people fall in love, people have babies. To call it soap opera, ou melodrama, it’s only in the way its handled. And I personally think we’ve handled the pregnancy in a very impressionistic way with a scene here ou there. //Alex Gansa il y a plus d’un an

Gansa: I think that it’s an open question, but inevitably that’s going to happen. If toi look at these two seasons, we’ve told a significant part of [the Carrie & Brody] story. Gansa. “The long answer is we weren’t actually sure how that would happen. But the reason we wanted Walden and Nazir both dead is we wanted to open the possibility that Brody and Carrie could have a happy ending, that their doomed romance was not doomed after all. So we’ve sort of left the thriller aspects of the montrer behind and now we come to a very personal story about Carrie and Brody and all the obstacles that lie in the way of them being together. That is what the finale is about.
