Brennan was getting ready for the annual New Year’s Eve party at the Jeffersonian. She had had a long jour examining the remains of the latest case she was working with Booth and she decided to take a relaxing bath before she gets dressed. Andrew, Booth’s boss, a dit he was going to see her at the party. She had hoped that Booth was coming but he did not say anything about it. As she lowered herself into the warm bubble bath, she told herself she could excuse herself early if Booth does not montrer ou maybe she should not go altogether. She leaned back and tried to relax and not think about anything at this time.
In another part of town, Booth had just picked up his dry cleaning and laundry. He was thinking about going to the New Year’s Eve party, but he knew his boss would be there. He knew his boss had a liking for Bones and if he saw them together, especially on New Year’s Eve, he might lose control of his feelings. He had been keeping his feelings for Bones from montrer and if he did disclose how he felt, she may not feel the same and he could lose her as a partner. He was just heading accueil when his phone rang. He looked down to see who the caller was and the screen montrer ‘BONES’. He picked up the call and said. “Booth.”
He did not hear anything on the other end but a muffled sound. He spoke louder. “Bones can toi hear me?” Again there was a faint sound that sounded like Bones calling his name. He answered again. “Bones are toi all right do toi need help?” This time he had turned up the volume as loud as it would go and again there was only a faint sound but it did sound like ‘Booth help me’ He answered back “Where are you?” But this time he could not hear anything. He put a call into the FBI and had them trace the location of Bones’ cell phone because the connection was still open. It turned out that the call was coming from her apartment. He put his siren on and drove straight to her apartment.
Meanwhile in Bones’ apartment, Bones was hoping that Booth heard her. She had been relaxing in the tub when the faucet started to drip and the sound was irritating. She had first turned the handle tighter but again the faucet commenced to drip again. Bones knew that the handle was as tight as it would go, so out of frustration she put her big toe into the faucet to stop the drip. Little did she know that after awhile her toe would get stuck in the faucet, try as might she could not get her toe out of the faucet. She had tried to dislodge her toe but no matter how hard she tried it would not budge. Now the water was getting colder and she was getting a cramp in her leg.
Suddenly she heard the knocking on her front door and she tried to yell out but with the bathroom door shut she knew she could not be heard. She was wondering who had been at the door when she heard Booth’s voice calling her name.
“Bones are toi here?”
She answered back. “Booth I’m in the bathtub.”
“Bones did toi call me?”
“Yes Booth I need your help.”
“OK, I’ll wait out here until toi come out.”
“No Booth I need your help in here. I’m stuck.”
Booth removed his jacket, tossed it onto a chair then slowly opened the bathroom door and saw Bones in the tub. He tried not to look at her naked body halfway submerged in the water but he could not take his eyes off of her. The bubbles where almost all gone and he could tell par her nipples that the water was cold. He knew that the color of her hair was natural and now he had conformation. As his eyes moved along her body he finally saw the toe stuck in the faucet. He moved to her foot and gently tried to pull the toe out but it was really wedged in tight.
“Bones how did toi get toi foot stuck?”
“The faucet was dripping and I tried to stop it. par the way how did toi get into the apartment without breaking down my door again?”
“Easy that key toi gave me so that Parker and I can use the pool also works on your door.”
“Booth how did toi know it was me calling you?”
“Well the phone showed your ID and I had to call traced back to your apartment. What happened with the phone because I could not hear you?”
“When my foot got stuck I reached for my phone, managed to speed dial your number but then dropped it on the floor. I tried to pull it closer with a towel and all the towel did was flip the phone over so toi could not hear me and I could barely hear you.”
While she was talking Booth was studying the plumbing problem and wishing he could remember how to remove the faucet, but since his surgery he has not regained all of his handyman skills which included plumbing. He turned to Bones and realized she has been sitting in cold water for some time and her lips were starting to turn blue.
“Bones toi are cold why don’t we let some of this cold water out and get some hot water into the tub to warm toi up, but let’s cover toi with some towels right now.”
“Thanks Booth, I was getting a little cold.”
Booth opened the drain to let out the cold water and as the water level lowered he started to emballage, wrap up Bones in dry towels to get her warm. He started to rub down her arms and shoulders and then realized that he was beginning to stroke her breasts because she had wrapped her arms across her chest. He quickly stopped rubbing and turned his attention back to the toe problem. He leaned across the tub to turn on the warm water to warm up Bones. As he turned to handle the water started coming out of the showerhead soaking him and her in the process. It then dawned on him that because she had her toe in the tub faucet the water was deflected to the showerhead. He quickly shut off the water but not before both them are totally drenched. As soon as he turned to water off, Bones foot dropped with a thud on the bathtub bottom. The running of the water was enough to break the suction that was keeping her toe stuck in the faucet.
As soon as her foot was free, Bones tried to get up out of the tub but her leg had become numb and would not hold her up. Booth quickly wrapped his arms around her body before she fell. He then gently lifted her out of the tub and held on to her as she got circulation back into her leg. Booth realized that Bones was getting cold again with the wet towels around her body. He grabbed the peignoir, robe he saw hanging in the bathroom and while holding her steady put it around her body. As he put the peignoir, robe on her, she let the wet towels fall to the floor. Booth then lifted her in his arms and he started to carry her out of the bathroom. Bones said. “Booth I’m all right now. toi can put me down”. Booth: “Bones are toi sure toi are OK.”
Bones: “Booth I’m fine. It’s just my toe is still hurting.”
Booth: “Let me look at it”
Bones: “Booth first get out of your wet clothes, there are dry towels in the cabinet while I make us some hot coffee.”
Booth: “All right but after I want to look at your foot. Where is your medical kit?”
Bones: “Under the sink in the bathroom. But first give me your clothes to dry before toi check my foot.”
Booth looked at Bones to see if she was going to leave the room while he undressed. She looked like she hesitated for a divisé, split seconde before she left the room to go make coffee. Bones thought to herself as she headed for the cuisine to make coffee why was Booth looking at me to leave the room before he undressed. I have seen him naked before. In fact I have even undressed him after that bombing last Christmas.
Booth was glad that she had left the room because he did not want her to see his state of arousal after seeing her naked and rubbing her breasts. He needed to recite the names of some saints before he leaves the bathroom since he is only going to be wearing a towel.
Bones was in the cuisine making the coffee as Booth entered with his wet clothes. She took the clothes from him and placed them in the dryer in the laundry room suivant to the kitchen. While she did this Booth went back to the bathroom to get the medical aide kit for Bones’ toe.

He applied an antiseptic and a Band-Aid and told her. “Bones just rest here while I get toi a cup of coffee and go put this back in the bathroom.”
It would be nice to just quietly sit because her toe still hurt. Just at that moment her computer signaled she had a caller. She was thankful that her computer was on the coffee table, tableau so she would not have to déplacer off the couch. She opened the laptop and saw that Angela was on the screen with Cam beside her.
Angela: “Sweetie we have been trying to call toi but your cell phone is only going to voice mail. Are toi coming tonight?”
Cam: “Andrew Hacker has been asking about you.”
Bones: “I don’t think I will make it tonight, I have other plans right now.”
Bones did not feel like going with the sore toe and also she knew that Booth was not there, he was here. Booth in the meantime had walked into the cuisine to get the cups of coffee. He saw that Bones on video conference on her computer but he could not see who she was talking with. He made two cups of very strong Irish coffee. He handed her a cup while she was talking. He stayed out of camera range because he was only wearing a towel and sipped his cup.
Cam and Angela noticed a male hand give Brennan the cup of coffee but they could not see who it was. At that moment, Andrew Hacker joined in the conversation and saw that Brennan was still at her accueil in a bathrobe. He asked. “Temperance aren’t toi getting ready we are all waiting for you.”
Angela and Cam were waiting for her reply because they knew that Bones had someone in her apartment but Hacker did not. At that moment the buzzer from the dryer sounded announcing that Booth’s clothes were dry. Booth signaled to Bones he was going to get the clothes while she was on the computer. Booth walked behind the canapé on the way to the laundry room to check his clothes.
Booth pulled his clothes out of the dryer and was heading back to the bathroom to change when he heard Hacker’s voice say. “Who is that naked man in your apartment and why are toi only wearing a bathrobe?”
Booth then realized that the way the computer was angled they could see his torso but nothing else. But he was plus interested in Bones’ answer. As he was passing the back of the canapé he heard her reply. “Well if toi all must know I have company. The reason I’m wearing a peignoir de bain, peignoir is that we just finished a bath together and he is not naked, he has a towel on.” Then as Booth passed, she reached over the canapé and pulled Booth’s towel off and said. “Now he is naked. As for anything else, it is none of your business Andrew.” It was obvious that the Irish coffee was having an effect on her. Booth quickly covered himself with the clothes he was carrying and whispered. “Bones!” As he dashed to the bathroom, she shut her computer and took another sip of her coffee while smiling at Booth’s reaction.
Her computer signaled again. She opened it up again since Booth was getting dressed in the bathroom. On the screen was Angela and Cam but no Andrew.
Angela: “Well at least toi got rid of Andrew. Who’s with you?”
Cam: “What do we say to Booth when he comes looking for you?”
Bones: “Good night ladies.”
This time when she shut her computer she turned it off. Booth came back into the room dressed in his boxeur, boxer shorts and tee shit. He put his jeans back into the dryer and asked her. “Bones who were toi talking to besides my boss?”
“That was Cam and Angela asking where I was.”
“Did they know that I was here?”
“No Booth because they asked what they should say if they saw you.”
“Say about what?’
“The naked man, who is in my apartment.”
“So they don’t know that I’m here.”
“No Booth they don’t.”
Meanwhile back at the Jeffersonian, Cam and Angela were discussing what was going on in Brennan’s apartment.
Cam: “So Dr. Brennan has someone else in her life. Did toi know about this Angela?”
Angela: “No I had no clue.”
Just then Hodgins joined them and asked. “What’s going on?”
Cam answered. “We called Dr. Brennan to see if she was coming and she had someone in her apartment. Apparently they had just taken a bath together and he was naked.”
Hodgins: “This sounds interesting. What else?”
Cam: “Well Andrew saw and questioned her and she told him it was none of his business.”
Hodgins: “Good for her I never did like that guy.”
Angela: “Awkward, this is so awkward.”
Hodgins: “Why is it awkward?”
Angela: “What about Booth? What are we to say when he asks about her tonight?”
Cam: “Oh that is going to be a problem, maybe he won’t come.”
Hodgins: “Do toi have an idea who the guy is?”
Cam: “No all we saw was his hand and a little of his torso.”
Angela: “Wait a minute I thought I heard a muted voice say something when Brennan pulled his towel off. Maybe we can id him from just the torso ou maybe match the voice.”
Cam: “We can try. Did toi record the call?”
Angela: “My computer automatically records.”
All three head quickly to Angela’s office, where they look at the recorded video call. Angela replays the call again but this time pauses the call just before Brennan pulls off the towel and says. “I know I heard him say something but it was so soft. I’m going to enhance the sound so we can hear it better.” She then starts the recording again and then they all heard it clearly. They all heard ‘BONES’ in Booth’s voice.
Hodgins: “It’s Booth.”
Angela: “Oh thank goodness.”
Cam: “It’s about time those two got together.”
As they left Angela’s office they ran into Andrew who was just leaving the party.
Cam: “You’re leaving so soon.”
Andrew: “Well there is no reason to stay now. Do toi have any idea who is with Temperance?”
Cam looked at him with her eyes a little wider than usual, shrugged her shoulders with her lips tightened together.. As Andrew walked away, they all gave a little smile to one another and went back to the party.
Back at Brennan’s apartment, Booth checked to make sure that Bones was off the computer before he asked if she wanted another cup of coffee.
Bones: “Booth instead of coffee let’s have some champagne. After all it is New Year’s Eve. There are two bottles in the refrigerator and the glasses are in the cabinet to the right”
Booth went to the kitchen, got the bottle of champagne and the glasses. He joined her on the couch, opened the bottle and poured. Bones took a sip of her glass and started to giggle. Booth looked at her wondering what she was laughing about.
Bones: “Look at us Booth here we are sitting here toi in your underwear and me in my bathrobe.”
Booth: “Some New Year’s Eve”
Bones: “Booth this is the best New Year’s Eve. Happy New an Booth.”

With that they intertwined their arms and sipped the champagne. As they lowered their glasses from their mouths, their lips moved closer toward each other and touched softly. They looked into each others eyes as their faces pulled away ever so slightly. They each moved in unison for another Kiss and this was not just a brush of the lips but a full blown, suck your face off, lose consciousness from lack oxygen, ground shaking, skies opening Kiss complete with tongue wrestling of Olympic caliber. As they pulled apart, Bones could hardly catch her breathe. She could feel her cœur, coeur racing and she knew she was feeling light headed. Booth himself knew that no matter how many saints he named it would not be enough to control his desire for her if they kissed again like that. Bones: “Look at us Booth here we are sitting here toi in your underwear and me in my bathrobe.”

Booth: “Happy New an Bones”
With that they intertwined their arms and sipped the champagne. As they lowered their glasses from their mouths, their lips moved closer toward each other and touched softly. They looked into each others eyes as their faces pulled away ever so slightly. They each moved in unison for another Kiss and this was not just a brush of the lips but a full blown, suck your face off, lose consciousness from lack oxygen, ground shaking, skies opening Kiss complete with tongue wrestling of Olympic caliber. As they pulled apart, Bones could hardly catch her breathe. She could feel her cœur, coeur racing and she knew she was feeling light headed. Booth himself knew that no matter how many saints he named it would not be enough to control his desire for her if they kissed again like that. But there was nothing to stop them from taking another long succulent Kiss except the buzzing of the dryer. They were both looking at each other, breathing heavily when the buzzer sounded again.
Bones: “That’s the dryer.”
Booth: “Yes, Bones I know.”
Bones: “You don’t have to get it.”
Booth: “I think I should; besides toi need to get some rest tonight.”
