Again, I don't want to argue, but everyone is welcomed to voice their opinions whether positive or negative in the comments of this pick.
When the american version started I thought I'd start watching it to see what it was like, and I liked it, so I carried on watching.
I'm thinking of maybe going back and watching all of the original ones when the US series has finished, just in case of spoilers!
"this is a spot for friendly comments" these were YOUR words. If you are going to implement a set of rules for the community, you must abide by them also.
I technically heard of the series sometime before Sam Witwer was cast in the US version. I didn't know of the US version then. I thought it was a very interesting concept and I really wanted to see it. I couldn't get it, but then I got to see a marathon of a few eps. Basically, I was really excited when the US version rolled around.
Also, there's a small issue with American viewers because the *actual* pilot was never shown in the states (the one that shows them meeting, ect) it was shown as a tv movie in the UK, and had different actors. The first episode aired here was really the 2nd so we didn't get that foundation to the story that thankfully the US version did include.
If I had to categorize the major difference in the UK and US versions - liking both the same - I'd have to say US version comes off as more of a sci-fi show with a heavy dramatic element and a lot of human interest minor plots. The UK version does have some very action-based sci-fi plots, but the typical scene is more about the personal struggles of the characters and has a more measured pace.
You knew it had to come in some way or another, since Aidan is spending two years in New Zealand to film The Hobbit. The actors had known about this since june (though the public only found out last october/november) so much of the series was written to give Aidan an exit strategy.
You are always welcome here, whenever you want. Its your spot LOL. I sent you a message which you probably blocked, but it basically said that I felt bad about chasing you away, and that if you were to come back I wouldn't argue or attack your opinions. That way we can both enjoy this spot.
I have since managed to catch some of the British and it was pretty cool too but I have to say I prefer this one. It has more depth and ok I'll be fully honest here Sam W. has a lot to do with it too, he's totally HOT!
I am especially peeved with the British version after they killed off Mitchell because I had really been liking the Annie/Mitchell romance and they hadn't gotten very far with it. I loved his last to her though "You are the love of my long life". Yeah that's right I'm a sapsucker! hehe.
AND SEEMS TO HAVE MORE HUMOR IN MY OPINION!!!!
BUT IT'S RARE FOR ME SINCE IM WAY MORE INTO FOREIGN TV, GUESS I JUST GOT BORED OF AMERICAN TV AND STARTED LOOKING UP TONS OF SHOWS IN OTHER COUNTRIES!!! LOL
I ADORE ALOT OF BRITISH SHOWS, SO GUESS THATS WHY I LIKE THE BRIT VERSION, BUT I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THE US VERSION A WHOLE LOT MORE PERHAPS ITS BECAUSE THE BRITISH ONE IS SLOWER PACED!!!!
WHETHER COMPARED OR NOT, I CANT WAIT FOR SEASON 3 THIS NEXT WEEK!!!!!!!
