Episode 1
My first description of this episode was EPIC, if this is the standard of what we are going to see throughout the season, then I'm glad I'm on this journey with them, and everyone here.
The moments I loved -The knights banter - although minimal, it showed the friendship they have, Gwaine with the apple, Percival/Gwaine with the nourriture oh and I loved the cuisine scene with the servants, Percival/Elyan with the 3 children & Leon/Elyan.
Merlin/Arthur - I loved their friendship in this episode, their banter, as it should be, although going par the Bangtan Boys with Merlin & the Knights in a future episode, not sure if I'll like that.
Uther is a shell of a man have no pity for him, Uncle Aggy is creepy reminds me of Scar in the Lion King,I don't like him at all, and Gauis is Gauis, but it was good to see that Arthur relied on his knowledge about magic & referred to his books
Morgana & Morgause, Morgause giving her life for her "sister", & Morgana only hesitated for a seconde then took it, and smiling when innocents died hmmm
Gwen/Lancelot - Good on toi Gwen, people wanted to know where this relationship was - well now we know and so does he, sorry but I don't feel sorry for him at all in that regard, I keep going back to 3x13 not 1 but 2 kisses in front of him, but the one thing I really l’amour is his friendship with Merlin
Gwen/Arthur - Loved the role reversal, the way he looked at her, caressed her face smiled at her, helped put her arm around his neck, I l’amour that he made the first déplacer of touching her, I loved the way she saw how he was with his father, touching his chest and letting him know he is plus than Camelot - I'm glad it was him that reassured her, and the reference to the first Kiss was classic, as toi can tell this was my favourite scene.
I was engrossed in this episode because when it came to the end of the episode I a dit "huh, what" nooo have to wait
Performances
ASH was brilliant I loved the shaking of the hand and how empty he looked.
Angel, brilliant as always she only has small scenes but always makes her presence known
Colin, I always love, both Colin & Angel makes it seem so easy, I loved both their performances
But to me the episode belonged to Bradley, I have seen him grow from a young man almost new to jouer la comédie to a man, a brilliant actor, his performance in this episode was brilliant. I loved his voice range, he seems plus confident with his performance, he really came into his own in this episode, I felt what he felt, Mr James toi should be proud. Thank You
Episode 2
I LOVED THIS EPISODE.
The moments I loved, and this episode had so many
•Lancelot and Merlins’ friendship, and the fact that they talk about Gwen
•Arthurs concern for Merlin and the fact that they talk about Gwen
•“Merlins future has been written since the dawn of time” – I l’amour this
•Lancelot meeting the Dragon
•“you are wrong” I loved her saying that, this is the Once and Future Queen I l’amour THIS SCENE, I l’amour what she said, I l’amour that she knows the people, I l’amour that she supports Arthur, I l’amour that she and Arthur think the same, I l’amour that she had the guts to say what she a dit to the council, I l’amour the reaction of the Council when she a dit “you are wrong” and I l’amour that she challenged Aggravaine “or do toi think he will fail” I loved that Geoffrey of Monmouth agreed with her.
•You see the spinelessness of Aggravaine, and the hatred that Morgana has for Gwen
•Gwen’s honesty toward Aggravaine par saying “show courage” toi gotta l’amour this woman,
•I loved the scene with Elyan & Arthur, and what Elyan a dit “we would fight a 1000 army’s with our bare hands for you, you’re never alone, we stand together”. To me Arthur has always thought that it is he that has to do all the sacrificing for Camelot.
•Lancelot meeting the dragon and the dragon telling him that he was the bravest and noblest of them all
•The joy/relief from the knights of Merlins return and the relief on Arthur’s face – also l’amour the semi hug from Arthur, not the full frontal hug that everyone seems to want but the arm around his shoulders hug.
•Merlin/Arthur camp feu scene
•Gemma Jones
•Love the little smile from Lancelot as he was crossing over, the arms out, wasn’t a big Lancelot fan but this episode I really felt for him and what he did.
•THE PYRE scene brilliantly done. I loved how Arthur reached for Gwens’ hand par running his own hand down her arm, and they both held onto each other’s hand, the little squeeze from Arthur, that was a tender moment, I loved that Gwen told Arthur what she asked of Lancelot, to me it wasn’t just the sacrifice for Camelot, Merlin and Gwen but I think that Arthur realised that Lancelot and the knights (remembering what Elyan said) are willing to sacrifice themselves for him, and I think that is a telling moment, I also l’amour the way as they were standing in front of the pyre their arms were moving, I loved his gentle touch on her shoulder , he would have also realised the guilt she felt in that moment, although I would l’amour to hear the words “I l’amour you” there are other ways of montrer love, Gwen looking after the man that killed her father, Gwen asking Lancelot to bring Arthur back safely, Arthur asking Merlin to make sure Gwen is happy, the “remember the first time I kissed toi scene” the hug, but also the pyre scene, everything about this scene was pure l’amour between them.
•I l’amour the pyre scene and this is what it meant to me. Burning Lancelot’s cape and sword is brilliant because it shows that Lancelot did actually die, because when Lancelot comes back he is not be the same man
•THE SCENE OF GWEN ALONE - JUST BRILLIANT
What I didn’t like:
I don’t like that Gwaine has become the “village idiot” ou “comic relief”, I really hope that changes, and I won’t say any plus on that subject at this time, until I see future episodes.
Performances
Santiago – I loved his performance, he actually made me feel for Lancelot being that I’m not a big Lancelot fan.
Bradley – brilliant again, becoming plus and plus impressed with his performances
Angel – Angel owned this episode, her Council chambers performance was just enough but not too much, she showed that toi can get your point across without going overboard, toi could see her hesitancy, but also her strength and support to the people of Camelot, toi could feel her uneasiness, trepidation when in Aggravaine’s personal chambers, her delight when asked to be his advisor, and the pyre scene the fact that she can cry on demand is brilliant, especially since she was laughing in between the crying scenes, toi can actually feel the guilt she felt, Angel toi should be proud, because I know I am. angel's jouer la comédie range is brilliant.
