Duke is the oldest poney to work on the Southern Pacific. This episode is about him.
Twice a week, he drives a passenger train from Ogden to Cheyenne. It's called The Picnic, because some of the ponies stop at stations to go on picnics at parks. He always drove the train, even on days when he didn't feel well. He knew all of the passengers, and the passengers knew him.
Unfortunately, on the tenth of January in 1957, he wasn't feeling well. He passed out in the yards, and a doctor arrived in an ambulance.
Duke: *Laying on ground par engine*
Doctor: *Looking him over*
Duke: How am I doctor?
Doctor: You're fine. Just fine. toi were lucky that Michael called for me just as soon as toi blacked out.
Duke: *Stands up*
Anthony: *Arrives* Hello Grandpa. Are toi going to retire?
Duke: Nothing of the sort. This is a daily checkup.
Anthony: I'll tell toi what. You're too old to drive trains. toi must let me, and Roger do it for you.
Doctor: *Gets in his ambulance, and drives away*
Duke: Humpf. That'll be the day.
Anthony: When I die.
Duke: Excuse me?
Anthony: It's part of a new song par Buddy Holly. Let me sing it to you.
A bunch of aléatoire ponies showed up out of nowhere with instruments, and they started to play the song.

Anthony: *Singing the song*
Well, that'll be the day, when toi say goodbye.
Yes, that'll be the jour when toi make me cry.
toi say you're gonna leave. toi know it's a lie, cause that'll be the day-ay-ay when I die.
Well toi give me all your lovin' and your tortue dovin'.
All your hugs, and kisses, and your money too.
Well toi know toi l’amour me baby.
Still toi tell me maybe, that someday when I'll be blue.
Well, that'll be the day, when toi say goodbye.
Yes, that'll be the jour when toi make me cry.
toi say you're gonna leave. toi know it's a lie, cause that'll be the day-ay-ay when I die.

Well, when Cupid shot his dart.
He shot it at your heart.
So if we ever part, and I leave toi

That someday, well I'll be blue
Well, that'll be the day, when toi say goodbye.
Yes, that'll be the jour when toi make me cry.

Well that'll be the day. Woo hoo.
Well that'll be the day. Woo hoo.
Well that'll be the day. Woo hoo.

Duke was driving his train eastbound to Cheyenne. He was feeling fine when all of a sudden, he blacked out again.
Duke: I gotta stay awake.... *Falls asleep, and leans on speed lever*
The train started to go faster much to the surprise of the passengers. The conductor was worried, and got on his walkie talkie to talk to Duke.
Conductor: Hey, you're going too fast.
Duke: *Sleeping*
Conductor: salut Duke, this isn't like toi buddy. Wake up!
Duke: *Wakes up* I blacked out. Who won the war?
Conductor: There's no war going on. Stop the train.
Duke: *Applies brakes*
The train stopped, and the conductor called for help. Anxious ponies waited in their seats on board, while others were outside waiting to get on.
Conductor: *Talks into loudspeakers on train* Attention, our current engineer is not feeling well. Two other engineers are coming to take his place. We will still get to Cheyenne on time.
Fifteen minutes later, Roger, and Anthony arrived. They climbed into the cab of Duke'e engine.
Anthony: This is the day.
Roger: We're taking over for the old stallion. *Laughing*
Conductor: *On walkie talkie* Are toi two ready?
Anthony: Yeah. The real engineers are me, and Roger. Duke will be the innocent bystander, as he watches his career slip away from his hooves.
Duke: That's not funny.
Roger: But it's true.
Conductor: All aboard.
Anthony: *Drives train*
Roger: What was Duke saying after toi told him we'd take over?
Anthony: He a dit *Speaks in German accent* Humpf. That'll be the day.
Roger: When I die.

Hours passed, and the sun was setting. Anthony had to stop at a station seven miles from Cheyenne. Roger had to get out to work on a freight train, leaving Anthony with just Duke.
Anthony: This is the jour for me, and Roger, but not for Duke. Poor old stallion.
Conductor: All aboard to Cheyenne!

Anthony: Well, I guess toi should start thinking about that.
Duke: *Goes to window in cab, and opens it*
Anthony: Getting fresh air?
Duke: Sure. *Grabs a branch from a tree*
Anthony: toi should be careful with sticking your hooves out of a moving train. toi could have hurt yourself.
Duke: I'm fine, but I know your fear of ants. *Looking at ant on branch*
Anthony: toi gotta be kidding me.
Duke: Let me drive the train, ou else this ant will be placed in your mane.
Anthony: Okay, it's yours.
So they switched positions in the engine. Duke drove, while Anthony did nothing. At the train station, Duke stopped his train at the station in unison with Hawkeye, who would be taking his passengers further east.
Anthony: *Gets out of train* I have done it. I got the train here all par myself.
