question regarding the episode 'Eternity'

So, toi know how Angel temporarily Lost his soul in 'Eternity' because Rebecca slipped him a 'happy pill' ? Well, the part of that that I don't understand is why it was only temporary.. I mean, once his soul is gone, wouldn't it stay gone?

He didn't really lose his soul. It was just a chemical effect brought on par the pills. It put him in a false sense of bliss.

I thought she was stupid for doing that but she got what she desered when he threw her cul, ass around like a rag doll!! I wasn't very fond of that episode because of that character, Angel was smitten with her but she didn't like him, she only cared about herself and that's why I didn't care for her
