I thought about good memories almost every waking heure of the jour but that's all they were now were memories and they couldn't help us now. I hadn't noticed as I was caught in the moment but Foljek had came up beside me and the question was directed at him. He was a great loup that was much older than me and probably had much greater experience than me especially him being an Alpha. When he had joined the group along with one other Alpha I had expected him to take control of the group being the elder, I had wanted him to take control of my group but he never took over the reigns. When asked why he didn't take control he either avoided the question ou ignored me. He didn't say it but I could tell something had happened to him back home. What happened suivant I wasn't expecting Foljek the calm old Alpha I had come to trust with my life became angry.
“I follow him because I failed at my turn to lead! I got loups killed, I got my brothers and sisters killed, I am not fit to lead only to fight for my pack!”
The brown loup obviously loosing his patience took one step vers l'avant, vers l’avant and howled than lonely howl again. Every Alpha he had brought with him started to walk slowly. Foljek, Sidney and Slick the last Alpha stood ready to fight, they knew death was approaching and they had accepted it. The brown loups inching closer and closer as we prepared to make our stand.
