*Blackjack's POV*

It seemed like the jour had just begun as night started to fall. The moon was rising high into the sky, and everyone was retreating to their dens. I waited for Candu to come back and montrer me where I would be staying. I didn't want to wind up in someone else's home.

The whole time though, I felt, odd. Like someone was sitting right behind me watching me. Every time I would turn around no one would be there and the feeling would go away. I hoped that I wasn't going crazy. That was the last thing I wanted.

Thankfully Candu ca,e back, without Hutch I might add, and showed me to a vacant den. It wasn't too big, ou too small, it was just right for me. Even better yet Candu's tanière, den is just a short walk away from mine. He a dit if I needed anything during the night to come and let him know, I a dit I would even though I probably wouldn't.

I sat down at the edge of the tanière, den and just looked up at the moon. It was nearly full, just a couple of days and it would be. I thought back to how kind they had been, how accepting they were, well except for Hutch, it felt good to be here.

"Home sweet home," I sighed as I turned back and laid down in the back of my new den.

*Unknown POV*

I sighed in boredom as I glared up at the moon. I had perched myself high in a pine arbre to keep far away from anyone who would try and attack me in my sleep, plus the view was nicer above the trees.

I liked the moon. It was constantly changing, never staying the same, and always hiding something from us. Always playing seconde best to the sun. In a way, it reminded me of myself.

But I wasn't here because I wanted to be, I had to be. There was a loup who brought me here. He took everything away from me when I was young. Ever since then I've been struggling to survive. The fact I'm still able to stand is a miracle.

I didn't know his name, I didn't know anything about him, except for his fourrure color. His image is forever seared into my mind. He took from me my very own father leaving me for dead. All I wanted was to get back at him for be did.

A piercing howl broke through the night air sending a chill down my spine. I knew that howl too well. It had been following me around for months, and I knew exactly who was making it.

His name was Byron, and he was an alpha. I met him while I was still struggling to hold on to life. We actually became fairly good friends. He kind of served as a role model for me during the time we spent together. He was tall with silver fourrure and striking blue eyes.

He even had a twin brother Haze, who was just like him in every way, even shared his voice. The only difference was their personality. Byron was plus serious than Haze was, always plus focused, whereas Haze was plus relaxed and timid.

They explained that they had come looking for their brother who had been missing for years. I told them that I was a longer, I figured it was best to keep my true intentions hidden from them. Unfortunately we had to part ways. I told them that we would have to hang out again.

'Well meet again Lexus, some jour soon we'll see each other, and I know when we do, toi will be a very powerful alpha,' those were Byron's last words to me. I imagined that whoever their brother was, he was a lucky loup to have such great siblings looking out for him.

It was good to know he was close, I even considered going and seeing him. But par now it was too dark to do anything. I just yawned widely and decided it was best to continue my quest in the morning.

"Whoever toi are I know your close, just wait until I find you, and when I do, I'm gonna kill you,"

*Byron's POV*

I finished my howl and looked back at my brother who was half asleep. I laughed at him and waled over tp sit beside him. He yawned and layed his head down on his paws.

"Go to sleep already Byron you've been keeping me up for hours," he grumbled.

"Oh will toi stop complaining already toi want to find him as much as I do," I argued laying my head down as well.

"Even he needs sleep Byron, toi keep howling like that and your going to wake up every loup in the forest, and they're not going to be happy about it,"

"Oh will toi just shut up and go to sleep already," I laughed. No one ever a dit it was easy having a twin brother. But it was fun, we could argue like that all the time and never be completelymad wuth each other, We knew it was just in fun. But it was true that we missed our brother. And we were going to find him, no matter the cost.
