We arrived back at the camp. There were a few Omegas scampering about playfully and a few Alphas just wandering about, jouer la comédie as if they all had something to do. I noticed Northrend walking into the camp at the opposite entrance. I ran over to him, Kate following me close behind. “Hey Bro…” I smiled at him warmly. He nodded and extended his paw, in a fist. I bumped my fist against his, which was our trademark. We exchanged a few words before Kate and I walked up the slope to her parent’s residence. When we were about halfway, she ran ahead of me in a hurry. She disappeared over the horizon meeting the cave entrance and the haut, retour au début of the slope. I walked up and found her and Eve talking.

“Is he your mate?” Eve asked, not in a hostile tone, which was surprising to Kate. Kate shook her head. “No, He isn’t…” She replied. They both turned to me. I was peeking my head over the horizon. Kate made a “Shoo shoo” gesture with her paw. I rolled my eyes and then sat down, after turning around. “Is he… Do you… Want…” Eve trailed off. She was obviously, to Kate, accepting me. Kate nodded, subtly. Eve looked away, not moving her head and nodded, in conclusion. “Seth, toi may come up now…” Kate called for me. I padded up to Eve, and dipped my head in respect. Entering the cave, I turned to Kate. “You sound like my brother when he and Lexine don’t want me in the tanière, den because they are having some… ‘Special time’…” Kate smiled at her mom, her teeth baring as if silently saying, He’s worth it…

I passed par Lilly, whom was trying to rest her eyes. Upon me passing by, her fluffy white ears perked, and her purple eyes flew wide in surprise. Her head came up in alarm as well. I smiled at her, casually. She calmed down and her facial expression showed it. She was obviously blushing from me being in there. She tucked her nose back into her paws, looking up at me without moving her head. I turned away and approached Winston, Kate’s dad. I heard footsteps behind me. I turned around slowly, to see Kate approaching me. Kate stood beside me and sidestepped a bit towards me, until my flank was pressed against hers. Winston’s mouth was open, and he was looking at her, with private words unspoken. I cleared my throat abruptly to stop this silent exchange. “Today, around noon, Kate and I are here to rapporter our results at the tracking of the caribou.” “Continue.” He said, almost smiling. “We are glad to report, that the caribou are exceptionally close to the entrance of the valley.” Winston nodded. “In other words, optimal hunting position.” Kate added. Winston then smiled. “Very good. Assemble a hunting party at once. Great job toi two. toi two will be great together.” “What!?” I exclaimed. Kate’s eyes widened in embarassement. She smiled at me, apologetically. "Oh! I.. I'm sorry! I thought toi two were..." Winston started. "No no..." I choked. I cleared my throat. "It's fine." I nodded. "We will assemble a hunting party at once." With that, I nodded my respect, and Kate and I left.

"North!" I called out. Northrend popped out from my den. He ran down the slope and approached me. "What is it?" He asked, concerned. I laughed at his tone of seriousness. "It's not bad, I was just wondering if toi and Lexine would like to come hunt with Kate and I..." North tapped m shoulder and gestured for me to wak over with him. Kate leaned forward, but North made a, "Halt!" Gesture with his paw. "Are you..." Northrend started, "NO!" I exploded. "Why does everyone think that!? Isn't it ok for a guy and a girl to be friends!? Sheesh!" I walked, back to Kate's side. Northrend shrugged. He was used to my attitude. He paced back to our tanière, den to get his mate. Kate didn't bother asking what he asked me. I I saw couple of the girls padding by. They stopped and waved upon seeing me. I smiled at them, and gently weaved my way in and out of the crowd to find, "Hey Seth!" Came a high pitched voice. I whipped around to see a slender black body standing there. "Hey Midnight..." I smiled. She brushed against my flank, affectionately. In a friend way. She was one of the girls that didn't like me, so that's why she became my best GIRL friend. "Kate, North, Lexine and I are going hunting... Would toi like to come?" Midnight thought before answering. "Have toi already done the tracking? Without that, there's no hunt." I nodded. Midnight smiled. "Right then... I'll come." I smiled at her. I turned to my slope, at the sound of the crunching of rocks. I saw Lexine and Northrend slowly padding down.

The group of five started on their way to the valley. The sound of leaves rustling ans herbe swishing filled our ears as we neared our destination. "So, where is the herd?" Midnight asked. "They are literally, right in front of the rocky plateau..." I replied, not turning back to her. She nodded in acknowledgement. We bursted into the clearing, leading to the slope. We cautiously entered the valley. Then we sat together, on the rocks and planned our move.
