Monologues are required if you want to get a gig anywhere.

i prefer doing soliloquies or duologues though

but when needed i have done monologues

I've done sooo many i've lost count!!

tree or something .. i dont usually want the part with the monologue... but if its all i get... usually, its because i would have to take a smaller part if not.. so...

I would amend what Cinders said to read "Monologues are required for any acting audition." No faster way to get a "thank you, don't call us, we'll call you" than by not having a prepared monologue for an audition.

yeah, i've auditioned 50 gazillion times with monologues, and i had a cheesy one in a play called Jolly Roger, and now i have one in A Christmas Carol as Belle

I have, it didn't go very well though :| I suddently got totally nervous and the audience (my theater classmates in school in this case) they kept stressing me to go on... I ended up doing it but I feel like it went a little too slow but my teacher thought it was too fast and wanted to see more :D
