A Day to Remember Announce ‘Bad Vibrations’ Album, Reveal Video for Title Track
A Day to Remember teased fans earlier this year with the standalone track “Paranoia,” but it turns out they actually did have more in store. The group has announced plans to release their sixth studio album,
, on Aug. 19 via their own ADTR Records and distributed by Epitaph.
The band is kicking off promotion for the new album by releasing a hard rocking new title track, reinforcing the heaviness teased by “Paranoia” and making it even more brutal. The Drew Russ-directed video for the song is a performance-based clip with quick moving close-ups as stage lighting flashes throughout the clip, leading the band to provide a warning at the top of the video for those with photosensitive epilepsy.
Earlier this year, the band members told us they worked with producers Bill Stevenson and Jason Livermore on “Paranoia” and it turns out the producing pair also lent their special touch to the full album as well. Grammy winner Andy Wallace mixed the effort.
“We completely changed the way we wrote, recorded and mixed this album,” says vocalist Jeremy McKinnon. “It was one of the most unique recording experiences we’ve ever had. We rented a cabin in the mountains 30 minutes outside of town and just wrote together in a room, which was the polar opposite of the last three albums we’ve made. And working with Bill was an awesome experience. He was a bit hard to read at first, so I think we subconsciously pushed ourselves harder to try to impress him. As a result, we gave this album everything we had.”
isn’t scheduled to hit until Aug. 19, you can pre-order the album in a variety of physical or digital options here.
It was recently revealed that the band will be supporting Blink-182 on their summer tour, which kicks off Jan. 21 at San Diego’s Viejas Arena. But just prior to the start of the run, the band will headline the performance lineup at the Alternative Press Music Awards on July 18 in Columbus, Ohio and they’ve signed on to play the Amnesia Rockfest in Montebello, Quebec on June 24. See all of the band’s dates here.
