How different are internet companies from “real” TV… ;) :(
Don’t watch. Hey, look at that! Solved your problem.
Yeah. To be honest nobody should watch this racist trash. Hopefully people will see how problematic this series is when all the poc characters start dying and a main one dies so that the celaenas story can move forward.
How is the book racist? There is nothing racist about it, it’s about an assassin getting back her freedom then saving her kingdom. I don’t see anything racist about it. The characters are all fantastic and the story is well made. Sarah has created a wonderful series that deserves to be brought on screen. Also Nehemiah died to make the main character move forward to become who she is. Skin color does not matter! We are all human, don’t go trying to say someone is racist and that their book is racist when it is not.
How on earth will you cast this predominantly white show set in a fantastical world? Also, how will you handle the backlash that will surely come when you kill off the magical black character sjmaas created?
Maybe they can put an black actor as an other important character. They do it all the time c:
LOL, what an offended life you must live to be that offended by a book series that is optional. Sheesh get a life.
I’M interested! This will lead to a lot of talks among the viewers. Will the producers address the diversity issues and romanticising of abuse in her series? The white savior complex inherent in the series too!
why is he doing it from book 4 not book one? thats pretty ridiculous
It is called Queen of Shadows, no one said it’s being picked up from the fourth book?
I reckon it’s just the title, so it doesn’t sound like a Game of Thrones knock off or something, they should still go from the start, otherwise they are cutting their source material in half.
They’re not. They’re just titling it Queen of Shadows because titling it The Assassin’s Blade or Throne of Glass for the entire series wouldn’t make any sense
I think he just used Queen of Shadows as an alternate name so that it wouldn’t be confused or associated with Game of Thrones
I think they’re starting from the start of the series, just calling the show by the fourth book’s title like Game of thrones uses the title of book one.
They’re adopting the title of the fourth book as the title of the series, not starting with the fourth book. Undoubtedly because Throne of Glass sounds a little too much like another show, while Queen of Shadows doesn’t.
Very cool! Love the book series so I’m definitely looking forward to this!
I can’t wait for this series! I don’t get the complaints of diversity. I’m a minority and I don’t think everything we read or watch has to be full of black/brown/LGTBQ characters. It is nice sure but not mandatory for me to enjoy something. Maas’ books are amazing and I cannot wait for this tv series and the film adaptation of ACOTAR. So excited!!
By naming it Queen of Shadows they are basically spoiling the entire series! I’m actually scared about this, they already ruined Shadowhunters. I just hope these characters won’t be ruined…
YES!!!! PEOPLE THE BOOKS AREAMAZING A D JUST READ THEM AGHHHHHJGDGFDD
How come a show like Game of Thrones that basically has all main white characters (the Starks, John Snow, Lannisters) has still been able to get critical acclaim and awards. Is it because a man was the one who wrote it and therefore it doesn’t rise questions about the majority white cast? Instead of spewing negative comments on this exciting news for MAAS’s fans why not put that effort into spreading positivity into the world instead.
Considering that one of the most successful shows on television is Game of Thrones which has a predominantly white protagonists (The Starks, Jon Snow, and the Lannisters) and still has received critical acclaim, I wouldn’t be one to judge so quickly. Is it because a MAN wrote Game of Thrones that it makes it okay not to bash him but when a female superwoman like Sarah J Maas receives this achievement it’s okay to send negative thoughts? If I were both of you I would spend my time sending positive thoughts out to the world than trash a hardworking author.
