question about D/K s’embrasser scene at end of 1x22 - When Damon looks back to the door and touches his lips: what is that supposed to mean?

(This might be a repeat because I saw a question similar but I can't find it again)

After Katherine ("Elena") says "I don't want to talk about it" to Jenna, there's a short scene right afterwards in which Damon looks back and then touches his lips gently before leaving. Do toi think that it was a sign that he understood, ou at least guessed, that it wasn't Elena? I mean, I know he walked away afterwards, but he seemed almost reluctant. Was he suspicious, parnaoid, ou just having deja vu? Would l’amour to know your thoughts on this (:

I've thought about this too. Maybe he was surprised that Elena kissed him back, but I don't think that was it. I think he understood the minute she kissed him back, because Elena would never do that to Stefan. The thing I think is weird, is, if he knew, why didn't he follow Katherine? He was shocked, sure, but not stupid. He knew she could hurt Elena and Jeremy.

So maybe, he didn't knew after all. Maybe he touched his lips because he couldn't really figure out his feelings etc, etc.

Yeah, toi have a good point - he knew that Elena loved Stefan (she loves Damon too; just hasn't realized it yet) and that it was very unlikely that she would let him Kiss her, and you're right, he would have followed Katherine if he had known it was her...but maybe he was caught up in the moment? Maybe he was just feeling light-headed form their makeout session? ;D

He's a vampire. And he realy loves Elena, I think he would put her security in front of his own feelings. But I don't know if the writers have even thought about that, so it could be possible that he thought it was Katherine. But if this was real, I am very positive that he thought it was Elena.

I think he probably recognized Katherine's Kiss ou something along those lines, because it WAS Katherine that he made out with. I don't think he really thought it was her, but suspected something was up... ou else he wouldn't allow her to go into the house.

But from all the interviews, the comic-con panel and stuff, I think that Damon actually didn't notice it was Katherine... which I find kinda lame because Damon is smart...

And in the trailer when he tells Stefan about the Kiss I think he doesn't know. If he knew it was Katherine the one he kissed I don't think the first thing he'd do right after is go tell Stefan "hey, I kissed Elena" knowing it was Katherine...




And I also think that he was surprised, like, maybe thought "Elena kisses just like Katherine" ou just got the same feeling when he kissed Katherine... But I'm sure he did sense ou feel ou remember Katherine somehow, even just for asecond.

"Maybe thought 'Elena kisses just like Katherine'" - very good point; I'm realizing that it's likely that that is what happened...he sensed it but didn't act on it. And yeah, I saw the season 2 trailer, so I agree with toi on that as well.
