I couldn’t recognize him anymore. His eyes were as crimson as the blood stained on his orange pelt, his mouth was curled up in a grin as he dealt another blow to my already worn flank. It was evident that he was not the same kind, gentle and shy renard that I had met so long ago. He was now a monster. He grabbed me par the scruff of my neck and my shackles dug into my ankles as he jerked me to meet his eyes. “Tails, what have toi done? Th-this isn’t like you.” My voice shook. I lacked my usual confidence. Who wouldn’t, when faced with a situation such as my own. He sneered and chuckled so coldly I could’ve sworn that a nuage of frost puffed up as he did.
“You naive fool. I am not Tails anymore.” I struggled against the shackles that held me to the mur but they just cut deeper into my ankles, making them burn. “Then who are you?” Those were the last words I managed to get out before his hand met my face. It made a sickening crack, and I fell on the floor. “I am Negative Tails, ruler of darkness and the true Chaos of this pathetic planet.” Tears hazed my vision. I struggled against my shackles yet again as he withdrew a syringe with a needle as long as my arm from his ceinture that usually held tools. He smirked and laughed dryly. It was as if his very presence made the air thick with his evil aura as he injected the needle into my arm. Spasms overtook me. My body was on feu and I couldn’t move. My mouth opened to scream and I noticed fangs were emerging from my parted lips. Suddenly, my pelt was becoming orange. He clamped a hand over my mouth so I couldn’t try to yell again as two my stomach and muzzle became furry and white. I saw two tails poking from my backside. To my horror, I realized I was becoming him. I bit his hand and heaved against my shackles. “Make it stop! Why are toi doing this?” Nega Tails just stood there, watching as I transformed into him. “So toi will see how it feels to be the sidekick. The runner-up. The second-in-command. Most importantly, toi will be my sidekick, never the other way around. Forever.” My eyes were becoming hazier and hazier with tears of pain and grief. Was this..monster, this truly evil being, my former best friend? Yes, he was. His global, ensemble features and height were the same.
