Shadow the Hedgehog Question

Dont u think that in Shadow the Hedgehog sonic says "I would not b caught dead using a weapon" and in Sonic and the Black night Sonic has a sword?

I just thought of that because i just got done playing Shadow the Hedgehog and I heard Sonic say that then I thought "in Sonic and the Black night he has a sword"

sonic and the black knight is only 4 the wii so sonic did use the sword
