With anticipation for the next series at a peak, Digital Spy recently spoke to actress Eleanor Tomlinson about Demelza\'s place in the narrative.

"She realises what she\'s got and she\'s not interested in a life of cheating or affairs," she said. "She loves Ross. So it\'s them taking their relationship on, and recovering from the pain they have caused each other and rebuilding their lives together. They find the heartbeat of their relationship."

Delving deeper into the new series, Tomlinson explained: "Ross swans off so Demelza has to run everything. She steps into his shoes and it\'s amazing how much respect she gets. She comes up to some criticism but nothing she can\'t handle.

"She\'s embracing a new social circle, trying to be a better person, trying to keep the business running and keeping her relationship working."
