Poldark killed off a main character in one of the most heartbreaking episodes yet.
If you haven’t seen the latest episode of Poldark we suggest you turn back now. Maybe read up on the latest X Factor news instead?
Have they gone? Okay, here goes.
Episode five said a sad goodbye to Francis Poldark (played by Kyle Soller), who drowned down the copper mine.
Fans had a bad feeling throughout the episode for a number of reasons. Firstly he said a tender goodbye to his son, promising him he would be back in time to read him a story. Also there was the fact that his missus Elizabeth wasn’t awake at the time.
He later had a tender moment with his cousin Ross’ wife Demelza, explaining that he was trying to make amends with Ross.
All these things spelt ‘doomed’ to a lot of viewers and tragically they were right.

Possibly the saddest moment came when Francis, submerged in water and fighting for his life, saw Ross rushing to his side to help him only to realise that he was seeing things and Ross hadn’t come at all.

If the BBC wanted to emotionally wreck a nation they succeeded.
HOW cruel can you get? Using the old "I'll be home to read you a story" AND the not-real rescue? (It was rly well done, I'm devo.) #Poldark
