I'm Going to Change the Attitude of This Town
After school, John talked with his friend, Randall. John said, "Man, I had an interesting dream last night." Randall asked, "What was it?" John said, "John Lennon came to me and told me that I could change the world. I told him that I would start par changing the mentality of this town." Randall looked confused. "What are toi going to do?" He asked. John said, "I'm going to change the attitude of this town. I'm going to montrer them that rock and roll isn't so bad. I'll also promote peace and love." Randall's eyes got big. "Are toi crazy?!" He cried. "You're going to try to change the mentality of Devil's Garden, only to find a guy doesn't like to give messages to a town that doesn't like him!" John said, "As crazy as it sounds, I'm going to do it." Randall said, "John, toi don't know what you're getting into. The town already hates you. Don't give them another reason." John decided to do it, anyway. That night, his family got ready to go to church. "John," his mother called, "are toi ready to go?" John said, "I can't. I have a test to study for." She asked, "When is it?" He said, "Friday." She said, "Oh, okay." She left with his sisters, and John watched them leave from the window. He didn't like to lie, but he knew that he had to get out of church somehow. It was essential to his plan. He grabbed his guitare and drove downtown. He parked right in front of the church. He played on his guitare and sang a song about peace. It was during the sermon. Everyone in the church came out. Pastor Thomas said, "John, you're disrupting my sermon. What do toi have to say for yourself?" John said, "I do feel guilty for lying to my mother, but I otherwise feel no shame." His mother said, "So, toi lied to me! Just wait until I get through with you, mister!" Pastor Thomas said, "I'm talking to John, Mrs. Wilde." He then turned to John and said, "You lied to your mother, and you're playing that devil music. We cannot have this great sin on church grounds, this holy ground." John snorted with derision. Pastor Thomas said, "Don't make that noise. It's disrespectful." John said, "I'm sorry, Pastor Thomas. I just couldn't help but notice the irony of that statement." Pastor Thomas was angry. "IRONY?!" He shouted. John said, "You can't exactly say this place is holy ou without sin. No one here is without sin." Pastor Thomas said, "Everyone but toi is without sin." John said, "That's not correct. Didn't Jésus say he without sin cast the first stone. Who among toi is without sin? The answer is none." Pastor Thomas said, "But your sin is the worst." John said, "I don't think this is a contest, Pastor Thomas." Pastor Thomas said, "You listened to that devil music. Rock musique came from the devil." John asked, "Haven't toi heard of Christian rock?" Pastor Thomas said, "Christian rock is like Santa Claus. It doesn't exist." John said, "You judge rock, because toi don't know it. If toi actually got to know it, toi would see that it isn't so bad." Pastor Thomas said, "Country musique isn't so bad. Rock musique is sinful." John said, "Most country songs are about fighting in a bar. Most rock songs are about world peace." Pastor Thomas said, "There's no such thing as world peace. It's a cliche that went away in the sixties." John said, "You think that, because toi won't give it a chance." Pastor Thomas frowned. "Give peace a chance," he scoffed. "That's like telling black people that they're supposed to serve white people." This angered John, but he didn't lose it. "You just expressed hatred!" He cried. "To me, that's the worst sin anyone can commit. That's far worse than listening to any type of musique that isn't considered Christian." Pastor Thomas shook with rage. He couldn't come up with an argument. He dismissed church. As John got ready to leave, his mother confronted him. "How could toi do that?!" She cried. He said, "I'm sorry, Mother. I did what I had to." She said, "You didn't have to do that." He said, "I'm only trying to change the attitude of Devil's Garden. Their hearts are filled with hate. I only want peace." She said, "There'll be no peace until Jésus comes." John said, "There'll be no peace until we all come together and l’amour one another." His mother said, "Don't argue with me, John." He said, "It seems that toi have been brainwashed par Baptists." She hit him on the side of his face with her purse, causing a black eye. She left with his sisters, leaving John to drive accueil alone. He went to lit early that night, crying from the pain of his black eye. He cried himself to sleep, hoping for a better tomorrow.

"Una! Where are you?!" Everett had been searching for Una for what seemed like hours. The wind almost knocked him over several times. Still, he wasn't about to give up. He had to find Una. Everett had not eaten since breakfast. Although he had plenty of nourriture to eat, he couldn't eat a thing. He was too worried about Una. She hadn't dressed as warmly as he did. If he didn't find her soon, she'd be done for. Soon, the snow stopped, much to his relief. Finding Una would be easier now. It was getting dark. Everett reached for his flashlight and turned it on. It was so bright, he could see everything....

The wind and the snow were bitterly cold. Una didn't know how long she had been out there, with no shelter and very little to keep her warm. Her shoes were soaked through, she could hardly feel her toes, and her fingers were La Reine des Neiges stiff. She could feel tear tracks hardened on her face as the wind stung her cheeks.
She had to do something to stay warm. She'd tried to keep moving, something telling her that to stop and rest in this weather could be fatal. But she was exhausted, each step plus and plus of a struggle as the snow rose higher and higher. And who knew where she was going, if she was...

The snowfall began to get heavier and heavier. Una and Everett tried to stay together, but the blizzard kept blinding them. Without realizing it, they became separated. Although the snow was blinding, there was no shelter. The young couple knew they had to get back to civilization and find a warm place. They pressed on for what seemed like hours. Finally, Everett saw a familiar sight. It was the town near the mountains. The hotel where he and Una were staying was in sight. Everett breathed a sigh of relief. He exclaimed, "We made it, Una! We made it!" There was no response. "Una," he called...

"Everett, watch this!" Una leaped off the hiking trail and slid gracefully into the light snow covering the ground on either side, kicking up a light spray.
He laughed. "Careful there, Una."
"Aren't I always?" She grinned at him teasingly before tossing a handful of snow up in the air. "I l’amour this. It's so beautiful up here." She sighed. "My family never really took vacations like this."
"Well, we can take lots," Everett replied without thinking. Wait, what had he said?? He and Una were officially together now, yes, but they hadn't talked at all about how "serious" they were, whether they was...

It had been nine months since Una and Everett first met. Though they didn't really need a break from anything at this point, with the both of them pursuing their dreams, they decided to go on a winter trip near the mountains. That morning, Mrs. Stratton had fixed a hearty breakfast for Una. Mrs. Stratton asked, "Are toi excited for your trip, dear?" Una said, "You bet! I've never been so close to the mountains before. I can't wait to go hiking in the snow." Mrs. Stratton said, "You be careful when toi go. I've heard it can be very cold there." Una said, "Don't worry, Mother. I won't be going...

Hi, everyone. Antonia here, and today, I am sharing some exciting news! My seconde Gerberian Shepsky, Joplin is no longer a little pup. She is one an old.

That's right. Joplin turned one today (November 12). It seems like just yesterday when I brought her home. She was just an eight-week-old puppy. She is now a young adult. Basically, she's a teenager. Joplin was a bit of a handful when she was younger. She's still a handful to an extent, but she is calmer than she was when I first got her.

Joplin still gets into things, but not like she used to. She still gnaws on things, but she's much more...

Hi, everyone! Antonia here, and I found this Q&A liste while looking around the Internet. I know everyone loves doing these. I'll start, and I'll include the link so that toi can try it yourselves. toi don't have to answer the same questions I did. Without further ado, let's get started, shall we?

1. What is your favori memory of your childhood friends? I have so many great memories. If I had to pick one, though, I'd have to pick the time that Paul (RocknRollSoul60) and I met Jan (60smusicluv) for the first time when we shielded her from some bullies.

2. What is your favori camelote, indésirable food?...

A few days later, Everett came to see Una again. He came just as she and her mother were finishing breakfast, and Mrs. Stratton smiled to see how quickly Una jumped from her siège and ran to let him in.
“Everett!” She beamed. His blue eyes lit up at her reaction to seeing him, and he reached out as if to pull her into a hug, then stopped as if wondering if that was too much right now. Una grinned and wrapped one arm around his shoulders in response. “Come in! We still have some crêpes if toi want some – I'd take one, Mom makes really good ones – how are you??”
“Great,” he told...

As Mrs. Stratton, Una, and Everett sipped their tea, they talked quite a bit. Mrs. Stratton asked Everett about his chosen career path. He told her about his passion for film editing. She listened intently. She began to rethink Una's passion for acting. Mrs. Stratton then asked Una, "Is jouer la comédie what toi really want?" Una said, "Yes, Mother, it's all I've ever wanted to do." Mrs. Stratton said, "If this is what toi really want, I promise not to stand in the way of your dreams." Una said, "Well, one of my dreams is to keep seeing Everett." Everett blushed. Mrs. Stratton said, "I think that's wonderful....

Una might have been nervous about coming accueil after her fight with her mother, about what she would say to her mother and what her mother would say to her once they saw each other in person, about whether she would be able to pursue her dreams again ou if things would just go right back to how they were before. But it was just so hard to worry about anything when Everett was there beside her. He was so steady and reassuring, and there was just so much to talk about with him around. They talked plus about films and about all sorts of other things, too. (It turned out they liked almost the same...

"Ever since I was a little girl, I wanted to be an actress. I always dreamed of the jour when my name would be in lights, and I would be starring in big films. In school, I participated in every school play, except for the time I had the flu, but that's another story. My father always supported me, and he regularly encouraged me to pursue acting. He would even playfully ask for my autograph. My mother never encouraged me to pursue acting. She wants me to go to college, even though going to college doesn't guarantee I'll get a job. Unfortunately, my father was taken suddenly when we went out...

An heure ou so into her walk, Una was beginning to regret her decision. It was hot, her feet hurt, she was thirsty and hungry and tired of carrying her bag all this way, and she was fairly certain she'd greatly misjudged the distance between here and Hollywood.
A fleeting thought crossed her mind – her mother had tried to contact her. She could call her mother to come and pick her up... ou even to give her a lift the rest of the way... No. Una shook her head firmly to drive the thought from her mind. Her mother would never agree to drive her to Hollywood. Una didn't need her mother's help,...

When Mrs. Stratton managed to pick herself up off the couch, she attempted to get herself together. She needed to find Una. Mrs. Stratton knew that calling the town cops would be a waste of time. After all, Una was eighteen, and even though she left without telling anyone, in their books, it did not count as running away. Mrs. Stratton looked to see if Una's cellphone was gone too. It was. With a heavy sigh, Mrs. Stratton attempted to call her daughter. There was no answer. It went straight to voicemail, which meant that Una had turned off her phone. Mrs. Stratton's cœur, coeur sank. Una must've...

Mrs. Stratton woke up early the suivant morning. She had been tossing and turning all night, unable to sleep. She couldn't stop thinking about her fight with Una.
She hadn't meant to upset her daughter. She had only wanted to make sure Una had a stable, secure future, to make sure Una did what was best for herself. Una had ambition and confidence, and Mrs. Stratton admired that. But, Mrs. Stratton thought, Una was too young to see how the real world worked. She still lived with her head in the clouds. Mrs. Stratton couldn't let her daughter reach for something unattainable only to come crashing...

Mrs. Stratton said, "That's nice." After a pause, she said, "Today was the deadline to apply for college. Have toi done that?" Una replied, "No, Mother." Mrs Stratton was enraged upon hearing this. "Why not? Una, toi need to secure your future. How do toi think I got my job as an accountant?!" Una said, "Mother, I don't want a boring bureau job. I want to entertain people. Ever since she could remember, Una Stratton had loved to act, and she had loved to have an audience.
She was the first to volunteer to read anything aloud ou speak in front of the class in school, and she was well known there for her loud, clear, confident voice. She would make big, sweeping gestures as she did, and made sure to emote even if she was lire a textbook page. She loved to pretend she was the main character in her favourite livres and films and TV shows, and she would set up her stuffed animaux to represent the other roles for her, ou later enlist some Friends to round out the...

Uncle Bruce was waiting up for Anjanette when she got accueil later that night. "I saw your appearance on TV, Anjanette. toi did well."
Anjanette blushed with pleasure. It made her feel better to know that one of the many, many people who had seen her up there was her uncle, someone who was rooting for her no matter what. "Thanks, Uncle Bruce. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be."
Uncle Bruce nodded knowingly. "Yes. I know toi were scared, but toi came through for your Friends anyway. I'm proud of you."
Anjanette beamed. "I'm glad it all worked out for them. Now Les and Jimmy can just be friends...

Becky said, "Come on, Anjanette. Talk to us." Anjanette took a deep breath. She said, "Yeah, I'm okay." Ferdinand gave her a hug. The audience cheered.
