Talking King Louis, Claire and Jamie\'s reunion and the Frasers\' love for one another.
Full spoilers for Outlander\'s latest episode, "Faith," continue below.
There\'s a lot left unsaid between Claire and Jamie Fraser when they finally reunite at the end of "Faith." She is still reeling from the loss of their child, he is newly out of prison and missed the entire experience, and both of Outlander\'s main characters decide it\'s finally time to return to Scotland after an attempt to change history that has gone off with quite a few hitches.
Claire and Jamie might have had a difficult time processing the events of the episode, but stars Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe have had plenty of time to understand the emotions their characters are struggling with. For Heughan, the way Jamie processes the loss of his child is through his pain for his wife.

"He feels so much guilt. He’s lost something, but he didn’t have a connection. He missed it all, so therefore there’s a great void for him. But for her, especially — he feels for her," Heughan explained. "He’s betrayed her trust, and that’s probably the worst part for him."
Praising Balfe\'s performancing in "Faith" as amazing, Heughan admitted that it\'s these dark, meaty scenes that both he and his co-star revel in. "In a weird way, those are definitely the scenes where me and Caitriona love to play," he said. "Those are the days that we really enjoy the most. It’s great for us as actors because we get asked to go to these places and be challenged. There’s a wonderful scene when Jamie returns back from incarceration and sees her for the first time. They’re challenging but definitely the most rewarding scenes to play."
Beyond the loss of her first child, Claire also made the difficult decision to do whatever needed to be done to get her husband out of the Bastille. Even though Claire helped King Louis XV determine whether Master Raymond and the Comte St. Germain were doing dark magic, the king still asked her to trade sex with him to get Jamie out of prison.
"At this point in Claire’s life, coming on the heels of the miscarriage, she’s lost so much already," said Balfe, explaining Claire\'s mindset. "Paris has been such a disaster for them, her relationship with Jamie is in fragments, and I think at this point her self-worth... I think she just feels like, \'I’m such a shell of who I was that this is nothing to me. If it gets my husband back, if it gets him free, this is something that I would give in a heartbeat.\' It’s an interesting thing, but it goes to the depths of her love for Jamie, and what people will do for love and what people will do to survive and to save the ones that they love."
Balfe praised Lionel Lingelser\'s portrayal of Louis and the way he\'s both humorous but there\'s "that real edge of danger." He\'s seemed to have a soft spot for Claire since their first meeting, as was evidenced during his torment of Black Jack Randall in "Untimely Resurrection," and Balfe believes it\'s because Claire is a character who also commands respect.
"Very often we see people who have a sense that this is not your typical woman," said Balfe. "[Louis] definitely has respect for her. Her opinion of Louie is that here’s someone who you have to be careful around, but I think she understands that here’s a transaction that she’s going to have to make."
