Once Upon A Time Question

Why do people like hook when he has done horrible things and never make up for them.

He continues to do horrible things. when he wasn't the dark one he still did bad things. Remember season four? he proudly objectifies women, he tried to take Emma from Neal, and he never changes.

Once Upon A Time Réponses

I remember when this question was asked about Regina. I didn't like it then and I don't care for it now.

The answer is that everyone has different tastes. TBH I think Hook's character just degraded midway through season 3 so I can't really answer as I'm not a Hook fan anymore. But I'm sure there are people who just don't see it the way toi and many others do. Some people disagree that he objectifies women. Some people say he got Emma fair and square. Do I agree with you, to a degree, yes actually. But I can also see why people disagree.

On haut, retour au début of that, Rumple is way worse where redemption is concerned. He says he's gonna do good and then does a complete reverse. So par comparison Hook is kind of a saint lol.

But really what it boils down to is that everyone sips a different cup of tea. Hook is some people's cup of thé and others don't like him.

The way I see it, he has shown regret for his actions. Remember when he showed his rings to Emma? He a dit that he considered them as trophies cause they belonged to men he's killed. He now thinks of them as reminders of the man he used to be and make sure to never become that man again. Plus I don't remember him objectifying anyone in season 4. Unless you're referring to what he did to Ursula. Once again that was back when he was a selfish pirate. Plus it's like what Emma a dit when Hook and Regina were trying to convince Emma to forgive her parents; that Regina and Hook may have been villains but they were honest about who they were and honesty is the best policy. Not that I'm saying murder is also a good thing but regardless, they were honest about who they were. Plus on a plus humorous but true statement, people like a bad boy. MDR Anyway the point is that the way I see it, the people like me who l’amour Hook and Regina are the people who prefer to focus on the present and not the past. They want to become better people now and make up for their mistakes. They're not perfect but they try.

Hook never did anything specific to make up for what he did. Regina did. People just like him because of his good looks and " bad boy " personality.

I'd say give him time. To be fair he has helped to try to keep Emma from going dark par reminding Emma that darkness has a way of creeping up on you. He's also helped to try to remove the darkness from Emma after she became the dark one. True he hasn't really done anything majorly epic that shows his newfound heroism like Regina has and I am pissed that he wasn't the one to pull out Excalibur cause I felt like that would've been the perfect role for him to do to montrer his heroism but again, I'd say have faith. He also was able to snap out of the darkness when he became the seconde dark one when Nimue was choking Emma to protect her and defeated Nimue.

Thumbs up to this answer. Hook is making an effort to change not support him in that effort is as good as encouraging him to remain selfish and evil.

Because he is good looking and they just want to forget about his past. He has showed regret, but hasn't redeemed himself and hasn't shown himself a hero like Regina. I dislike him so much.

So do I! Especially after he killed his father and left his half brother an orphan. His father may have abandoned him, but Hook did something even worse, he did the same thing to his own brother. I keep wanting to know what happened to that poor little boy afterwards.

I myself don't care for Hook but wouldn't toi say it's a tad unfair to say that everyone just likes him for his looks? Honestly some people might LIKE (caps because I can't use itellics) him BECAUSE he's still somewhat on the bad side. I have a thing for evil characters...just not Hook.

It happens all the time, people don't really care if he's a bad person (to be fair a lot of my faves are bad people-- Jafar, Cora, Katherine Pierce, Bellatrix-- but they all own up to it instead of thinking they're some kind of hero), they like him because he's attractive and he's a bad boy "gone good." It's why he, and other characters such as Damon Salvatore from TVD, are such fan favorites. Personally I can't stand either of them ou that trope, they are both entitled, self-righteous asses who go right back to their bad behavior after they stop getting what they want.

It's just preferences. I mean, I don't really like him, but people like villains. Maybe he will make up, at least for the darkness, but I just find him annoying and the whole Emma/ Hook thing.

What is the purpose of this question? Why should Hook be solely targeted? Because toi don't like him? Why not ask this question about Emma, Regina, Rumpelstiltskin, Snow White, David and other characters who have done terrible things?
