Chapter One: Maker of Stars
Do toi believe in miracles? Have toi ever felt a longing for something you've never known? Do toi believe in creations, ideals, dreams becoming reality? Have toi ever thought that there was something out there, far beyond your world, that interested you, but no matter how hard toi tried, toi could never quite figure it out? Welcome to my life in Equestria.
My name is Silversheen, and I'm famous. Well, not exactly famous, but I'm certainly well-known in my empire. No, I don't live in Ponyville, ou Canterlot, ou even the Crystal Empire. My accueil is-was, I mean-a place called Pridus in an empire known as Direbond, beyond even the reign of Celestia. Pridus was where the princesses of Direbond lived. And that's exactly what I was. A princess.
Now, that may sound like every young filly's dream, and at first, it was. I wore the titre with pride. However, as I grew older, I had to cope with all the expectations and guidelines that came with that titre I had prized so much.
One thing toi should know, I was never what you'd call a "role model." I always felt awkward around younger fillies, because I felt that I was supposed to be perfect, as an example to them.
But the fact is, I'm not perfect. Never have been, never will be.
I understood that about myself. Now, I just had to make my parents understand as well.
My mother, Golden Shine, was the current princess of Direbond, and I was to follow in her hoofsteps, as she constantly reminded me. My father, Platinum Bolt, was less strict, but still firm. He a dit being a ruler is about plus than royal blood; it's about being a leader, and maintaining order, both of which I had never been able to do. I felt so useless at everything.
Except one thing.
I had the power to create stars.
Though I never told my parents, because I was sure that it would only land me with plus unbearable expectations, I discovered that I could make replications of the "sparkles in the sky," as I thought of them then.
One night, I began to dream. I dreamed of blurry shapes, and voices calling my name from all directions. I woke from these dreams, which would occur occasionally, confused and distraught, never any closer to understanding them. I became plus and plus distracted as days went by. It all seemed to become a haze. My mother was not pleased.
Golden Shine: Silversheen! That's the third time you've zoned out today!
(Silversheen snaps to attention)
Silversheen: Sorry, Mom.
Golden: Honestly, Silversheen...Being a princess requires all your attention. A princess doesn't daydream!
Silversheen: I'm really sorry.
Golden: (sigh) It's alright. I just wish that toi would take this role plus seriously.
Looking back, I don't blame my mother for her frustration, and at times, harsh words. She was trying so hard to set me on a path I didn't belong.
However, I continued to keep my dreams and my powers a secret...
(Please let me know what toi thought of this! Chapter 2 is coming soon :) )
