Was the supposed affair Ian Curtis had with annik honore true?

I was lire about Ian Curtis and joy division. And apparently Ian Curtis was accused par his wife for having an affair with a female journalist friend, annik honore. But later on in a 2010 interview honore says they were just friends. Do toi think the affair thing was true? I just recently got into the band btw. I really like their music.
