Jennifer Lawrence Is Chasing Taylor Swift Up The iTunes Charts
Jennifer Lawrence might have hated having to sing on camera in “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 1,” but man, are people loving the result.
The recording of “The Hanging Tree,” the haunting, folksy ballad sung by Lawrence for the film’s official score, was already charting in the UK and Australia last week. And now, it’s occupying the #2 spot on iTunes, second only to Taylor Swift and “Blank Space.” Not bad for a performance that J-Law described as so scary and stressful that it made her cry.
We’ll find out this week where “The Hanging Tree” sits on the Billboard Hot 100; sales figures have already projected that it’ll easily debut within the top 40. In the meantime, enjoy watching Jennifer Lawrence reliving the terror of filming that scene in this MTV News interview with the cast of “Mockingjay.”
