“Lise?” Lisa breathed in his chest and looked up at him.
“Could toi help me remembering?” Hugh’s eyes were so honest, Lisa allowed her to drown in them for a second. Hugh didn’t need to remember anything because he didn’t have amnesia but it would buy him time to get to know this people.
“Yes.” She broke the embraced and covered the piano. “We have some family albums upstairs and some videos.”
“I would rather talk, pictures can come later.”
Hugh stood up and moved to sit in one of the couches. Lisa sat a few inches suivant to him.
“In what do I work?”
“You are an actor, I believe a very good one, though toi have only participated in British films.”Hugh had to have a really strong amnesia to forget his life passion, Lisa couldn’t help but worry.
“I’ve never been in anything American?”
“No.” She a dit with a pitiful look, Hugh noticed, then his thought line drift to the précédant conversation. Lisa was a doctor, she wasn’t an actress.
“Why are toi a doctor?”
“Was, I stopped practicing about 18 years ago. My father inspired me, and I wasn’t a very populaire girl in my school so I spent my time lire and studying, lead me to that.” He couldn’t possibly imagine why Lisa was rejected socially, maybe she was way prettier that the other girls and they envied her. That was the only reasonable explanation. But there was other thing bothering Hugh, he was an actor, and she an actor, how did they end up married?
“So, if toi are not an actress, how did we meet?”
“My sister introduced us, she is the actress.” Hugh had never seen her sister as an actress, she wasn’t even that pretty. Off course since everything seemed so out of place now, he couldn’t have expected less.
“Tell me about our kids.”
“Well, Leah is the oldest one, she’s in college studying arts, just like her dad. Stelios is a photographer since he was 16-“ Hugh interrupted remembering the morning encounter.
“I thought he was a model.”
“Most people think he is.” Lisa smiled, the pride gleaming in her eyes. She lived for her family, Hugh could notice. That was so unlike real life, Lisa had never been a family person, though she did take a lot of care of her dogs, but she had never mentioned to want kids ou form a family.
“Well, I can see why. He’s really handsome, very alike to his mother.” Lisa blushed a little at the compliment, he definitely liked Hugh having amnesia.
“Ruth is plus like toi in looks, she’s plus like me in personality.”
“Nerdy?” He smirked.
“Yes.” She smiled back. He didn’t know what made him feel comfortable around this Lisa, maybe it was the resemblance but he felt as if he had met her for those 20 years. Her smile gave him the same feeling, that warm sensation inside his heart.
“What about your family?” He held eye contact with her.
“Jews who hate you, mostly.” She laughed, it was the first time he had heard her laugh. It felt familiar, then what she had a dit sank in.
“Why would they hate me?” He raised an eyebrow.
“You took their little agneau away from them, my mom is the one that likes toi better.”
“Do they hate me because I’m not a Jew?”
“No.” She giggled. Her face wrinkled as her white teeth were exposed, it was a beautiful yet odd sight. Her smile was special. Hugh could see she didn’t share many. She was a conservative British woman, with a family she loved, and a man who had hurt her. She was a treasure that has been buried all of her life. Hugh smiled back at her.
“Good to know.” He looked at the carpet which was white and he remembered what he meant to ask earlier in the morning. “Why are things here so white?”
“I like white, it’s fresh, it’s vivid, and it’s peaceful. I spend plus time accueil than anything else, so I like to feel an open environment.” Hugh was Il était une fois par the complexity of what formed this Lisa.
“Tell plus about you.”
“Well, I’m a married Jew woman, with three child-“ Lisa joked.
“I meant, what do toi usually do?”
“I read medicine articles, books, I do housework, take care of our 3 dogs, vegetarian.” This proved to Hugh what he felt.
Lisa Laurie had details that made her like Lisa Edelstein but at the same time. It was like meting a stranger in a bar, ou a girl toi saw at the coffee shop. He had been Il était une fois par the beauty of her at first but now that he was getting to unwrap the gift, he was discovering the beauty of Lisa Laurie. She was a stranger who had won his cœur, coeur in less than 1 day. He began to suspect that girls named Lisa’s had that kind of charm.
“It feels bizarre, it’s like if we had met online and were dating for the first time.”
“It does.” She nodded. To her, he was new too. They stared into each other’s eyes.
“It’s past twelve, I have to go get ready for yoga.” Lisa broke eye contact and stood up from the couch. Hugh raised an eyebrow.
“You take yoga classes? I thought toi were an expert.”
“I am, that’s why I teach desperate mothers trying to get a little peace on their lives.”
“Aren’t toi one of them?” He bit his tongue when he a dit that, her smile disappeared within seconds. He had meant it as a joke but he still didn’t know what did hurt ou not.
“I will see toi later.” She said, pushing back the pain. He gave him a quick peck on his lips and then began walking towards the stairs.
