-Grey clouds rolled in, and the wind picked up, indicating rain. The battle field, stained with the blood of the soldiers, held several injured, and many dead. The only survivors were five penguins. They sat, resting from the hard battle. Skipper and his team, wounded and tired.
The worst of the injured were Private and CC, being the most inexperianced. But all of them were very badly hurt. CC stood, despite her badly damaged foot, and gazed across the former battle field.
"So many live were Lost today," she whispered to herself, then started tearing up. "And some of them I ended." She put her flippers over her eyes, and wept.
Private stood suivant to her, wrapping his flippers around her shoulders, and holding her. He too, felt like breaking down and weeping, but he felt he had to be strong for CC. Skipper stood on her other side, also looking out over the blood-stained grounds.
"Today is a solemn day," he said. CC stoped crying and the team looked at him. "May this fight remind us that we can NEVER trust dolphins, nor lobsters."
"Sir," CC sniffed. "I just want to say, this being my first real battle, I don't ever want to experiance this again. Death is hard enough for me as it is, but when I'm the one delivering it, it's just..." she couldn't continue, and just wrapped her flippers around Private instead, as he had just started crying himself. "Please can we go home, now?" she added, just as the rain began to fall, and wash away the blood into little rivers, covering the land.
CC looked up from her notebook, and watched everyone around the room. She never told anyone what she'd been doing for the past few days, but kept it to herself. She wanted it to be a surprise for when it was finished. Marlene had orginised a special event for the zoo, where all the animaux get together, and montrer off the kind of things they can do, concerning some kind of art, like singing, ou painting. CC was écriture a story, and planned to read it out to the zoo. Marlene, being the only one who knew about it, had arranged for it to be done while lunch was served, because then everyone was in one place.
While she was checking through her work, and correcting errors in her grammar, Private came up to her.
"Watcha doin' there, CC?" he asked.
"Sorry, Private," CC replied, closing her notebook, and standing. "It's classified." She smiled at him, and climbed up the ladder to the fish-bowl door.
"Oh, and Skipper," she added. a dit manchot, pingouin turned to face her. "Try not to bicker with Mech-Skipper at the event, please? This is going to be for fun, not fights."
"Fine," Skipper groaned. "I still don't trust him, though."
"You don't have to," CC replied, climbing up the ladder, and out the door.
