I think he needs to be with someone with a stronger personality, or he'd just end up bossing them about. Like imagine his first interaction with Pocahontas, but switch her with Aurora

Aurora: Really? Huh. I never knew that.

Phillip is like John in that he's the white knight, action guy type, but he's also kind of soppy and dreamy like Aurora so he wouldn't be as likely to overpower her personality in a relationship like John Smith.
