I left Poca, Cindy, and Elsa out because Poca typically stays in the middle from what I've seen or forgotten entirely while Cindy gets hate outside FP but is liked as a role model fairly well here. Elsa, it's the exact opposite of Cindy. Both middling. I'm more curious about the ones more commonly called worst or best.

I also don't think Belle and Mulan are great either.

I guess I would pick Tiana since she focuses so much on her dream. But in the end she grows out of it. I don't know, they're all very admirable characters.

With a heavy heart I have to admit she is not the very best role model. The other options here are better role models in my opinion.

Everybody praises her for traits that aren't even there. Tiana is not the best role model. Tiana is deeply critical of other people's choices and behavior, while lauding her own personal choices and behavior. Tiana is actually stuck-up and self-righteous in my view. She is not terribly smart, either, but she is about as smart as Belle, really. Belle stays with an abusive person because of blackmail, and Tiana kisses a frog for financial gain.

Lying to the one who has raised her for 18 years, easily got influenced from outsiders, married to a criminal-to-be-hanged to your own kingdom (well yeah, he's reformed but as a role model? Na-ah), etc.

Rap unseal, because she did run away from her "mother" and kids could take that the wrong way. The Belle because she doesn't really know her limits when in a situation like that, going into the west wing AMOUNG other things weren't really good choices.

Belle just has an overly aloof attitude towards others, which causes me to not care for her too much :(

There's a certain line where it is moral for one to disobey one's elders, and that is when your *basic* personal freedoms are being denied you. Would it have been better for Rapunzel to mindlessly obey her "mother", who constantly and consciously puts Rapunzel down emotionally, and live a miserable life confined to a single room - while Gothel is free to leave whenever she wants?

Agree with disnerdtobe. I don't find Tiana to be really good role model though, she's way too focus to work and gain money until she seems forgot that happiness isn't only got from being rich and have a lot of money. She ignores her family, her friends, and even her healthy.

How can Rapunzel and Belle are worse than her? They both are good role models. Rapunzel shown us to follow dream (but in a good way) and stands up yourself, while Belle teach us to be unjudgemental, understanding, caring, and open-minded.

Belle is cold, and has always been so. Belle basically teaches kids that "you can walk around judging and scoffing at your neighbors when you they don't happen to share the same interests as you do." You can also creep around and be nosy in other people's private spaces-- and then claim you did nothing at all wrong. And you will be rewarded for all of it, and called a "role model" while Ariel gets dissed for her mistakes. .

Blah. Never liked the Belle message. I never was a Disney Belle fan, either. I agree with Ace2000.

Also don't like the Tiana worship, since she is hypercritical of everyone around her, and is Miss Control Freak with a capital "C." I tend to agree with what Disnerdtobe has already said.

At least Tiana and Mulan have arcs where they have to confront and address their flaws - and I think that makes them far better role models than someone who never has to overcome them and isn't expected to (Belle, whose flaws are worse than Rapunzel's because she's so negative and awful about the people around her for no reason.)
