'Because I don't want toi to be what other people think toi are!'
'What, a monster?! Sorry to disappoint toi Elena but last time I checked I was still a vampire!'
'I just wish toi didn't have to act like one!'
'I am not Stefan! How about toi stop trying to turn me into him?'
First of all - How hot were they even when they were arguing?! :P Whew, such passion.
Next, I think at this point it's completely normal for Elena and Damon to feel the way they do. The whole point of this scene was that Elena was doing the exact opposite of trying to 'change' Damon.
The only thing she wants is for him to act how he does around her in regards to everybody. The Damon that she knows and cares deeply for. The Damon that's vulnerable around her, and lets down his walls, but is still very much guarded. The Damon that shows his humanity. If only Damon were the Damon she knows in regards to everybody then maybe her feelings wouldn't be so 'wrong' ('What does that say about me?'), because Elena has a weird need to justify her feelings as if they're wrong on some level, because everybody else see's Damon as the 'monster'.
Damon, on the other hand, well he's got a whole other bag of problems. For the first time in his life somebody believes in him. Everybody else would choose his brother over him. Katherine, his dad, Elena, Katherine again. I mean, the boys got trust issues. So whenever somebody actually believes in him, it's no wonder that his knee-jerk reaction is to compare himself to his brother as the reason Elena wants him to 'change'. It's just sad, really.
They both have a LOT of work to do, no doubt about that. This was just a really short article to view my take on that scene :] If toi have a different viewpoint please commentaire and share.
“You’re here.” she breathed, slipping her hands around his neck and leaning in to press her cheek against the coolness of his jacket.
“Not exactly dressed for occasion.” he murmured.
“That’s alright. I can’t imagine the 20s being your time period. I..” she whispered, face flushing with rose. “I like toi better like this.”
“You do?” he cocked an eyebrow, smirking his famous - and her favori - Damon smirk.
She stayed very silent, simply enjoying the feel of his arms around her as they swayed to musique that was rather slow. All night they had played musique that certainly fit the 1920s jazz decade. What strange coincidence that they should play a slower song the moment Damon showed up. She pulled back to glance into his eyes. “I’m glad you’re here. I was waiting for you.”
